I think the answer is 'no'... there doesn't seem to be any mechanism to transfer L$ without going in-world.

You can use a low-resource client, like SLeek, to pay someone without fully logging into SL, but it's still putting your avatar online.
If you are unable to connect with the SL client, though, it may not work with SLeek either. _____________________

Apez.biz has the option to pay avatars from their web backend. They also have the option to make scheduled payments, and they can create logical sub-accounts (e.g. work, personal) so you have it easier with bookkeeping.

It would be possible to do via an LSL script in an object.
It may not help you this time round, but if it is likely to happen in the future you could be prepared. You would have to grant Debit permissions to the object and either have it poll a web page, of set it to receive email and pay according to the details received. Security will be an issue, but then it always is where money is involved. _____________________

If you can't logon using a text client like SLeek or Metabolt, you could sell your Linden back on the SL currency website, do a "process credit", and and pay the person using Paypal.

Again, your av logs in, but it's not a client you can go wandering around looking at stuff in. You can chat, pay someone, mess with your inventory (in the inventory menu only, no rezzing stuff) and log out. Static picture in your browser while you're doing it. A _____________________
