ok.. i tried Asking LL about this and got the 'sorry your not a premium member you dont get this lvl of help' Bah!.. i was a premium member for nearly a year.. only droped it cause of Money issues in RL thanks to an accident.. *sighs* guess i'll have to re-up my acount again... but.. anyway.. I need some HELP! lol.
Recently i loged into SL.. and was given that message about i HAD to update my client befor i would be allowed to log in again.. so i did. Everything was working fine for the next day or two untill i decided to change outfits on my Avi. Thats when the trouble started. I suddenly turned a solid color on my 'skin' from the Waist down. Clothing Layers still displayed what they were sapose to.. but the SKIN from the waist down turned solid black.
It took me nearly a hour to figure out it was the Shoe Base that was causeing the problem... For some reason i suddenly turn whatever color the Shoe base is set to from the waist down on roughtly 1/2 of the Shoes i own, Weither it be high-heels or Tennies. Figureing this might just be a corrupted object i asked the creator of 2 of the now 'buggy' shoes for new bases to see if that'd fix it. It dosnt.. even the new ones still give the same issue.
Has ANYONE ever heard of this happening, or have had it happen to them in the past and know how to fix it?

If you're using an nVidia graphics card, try Advanced/Rendering/Features/uncheck Palletized Textures...Ctrl-Alt-D to get the Advanced menu. You may have to do this every time you log in, as well as taking the shoes on and off.
If that doesn't work, you'll probably need to roll your drivers back to the 175 series.

It's a bug with the latest Nvidia drivers and the 1.20.xx client. Clothing layer textures are baking on the entire layer regardless of any start-stop points defined by the layer or the slider for that layer... I downgraded to a 16x.x version driver to fix it myself. (^_^)y

I could Kiss ya!! hehe TY SOOOO Mutch..
it worked.. though i just have to go threw all the shoes i had that were giveing me the problem and rebake after wearing them all to clear the bug. Just what is the Palletized Texture anyway?.. is it something thats gonna make me see everything 'crappy' for the next little bit since i had to turn it off till i either roll-back my vidio drivers or LL patches it?

Rolling back the driver ain't all bad, considering how far I decided to roll back. And, the main problem is during the baking of your avatar. As clothing layer textures load, it's up to your client to bake them locally into a single texture. (^_^) I think the 'Palletized Textures' option affects how these textures are initially handled because they're not only subject to the alpha channel in the texture, but, also layer and slider based start-stop hiding of the remainder of the textures. When that hiding is broken, you get the entire layer baked, so shoes become pants, glove become shirts, and your avatar gets coated by colors and textures that shouldn't be showing. (>_< You can read about it here. >> https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7957 << (^_^)

There's a good chance that nVidia created this issue, not LL's coders, but I believe LL is just going to stop using palletized textures in some future release.
With no release date set for that yet, you might want to roll back the drivers for simplicity's sake.
