I've followed the instructions for drag-selecting to move or take many objects at once, but when I drag-select in edit mode things lock. I've done unlock several times, only to find that when I drag-select the same objects, many of them lock.
Any thoughts on this? I'd really like to move house and contents this way.
Thanks in advance.

Well, I got it to work once, and thought it was solved. However, I went to move it a little more and ran into the same issue, this time with no luck.
The Lock check box lights for a millisecond when clicking, but won't release like it did last time. Every time I unlock each and every piece and every time, once I do drag select, things get locked. Rinse and repeat ad nauseam.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Is this with the standard release viewer (1.20.15)? And just to be sure I understand: it's not just that Lock lights while selecting, but that the individual objects, previously unlocked, are locked afterwards? (Honestly, I've never seen this, and I use drag-select all the time, so something exotic is going on.)

Yep, I'm not sure if it's a Mac thing or what. A friend logged on with my avatar from their PC and they were able to unlock without things repeatedly locking again. Well, everything's moved thanks to my friend, anyway.
If I ever find a solution for this, I'll resurrect the thread.
Thanks, everyone.
Oh, sorry Qie. I was crashing on the newest viewer so I stepped back to the 1.19 and haven't had major issues since. Running latest graphics card, powerful new 'puter, all that good stuff. And yes, I would unlock, say, a roof section, unlock everything else, double check, click and drag, unable to move due to lock showing, go back to that same roof section and find it locked. Happened with numerous pieces without rhyme or reason numerous times. PC had no issues like this.

That is weird. I have performed this very operation several times the past two days and have not experienced this. It may be related to the rollout, perhaps?

Should work fine on a Mac with the 1.20 standard client. Perhaps you are accidentally selecting some prims that you don't own? If you are selecting a LOT of seperate prims and linksets, it can take a couple of minutes for it to 'settle out' and display the changed lock settings. Example, you select 2000 or so prims, that are about 125 seperate linksets. You see that the "lock" checkbox is greyed out and checked. This means that at least one prim or linkset somewhere in that mess is locked. You click the Lock checkbox once. A minute or so later, it has updated all those individual objects or linksets, and the checkbox finally changes to a white box that is checked. You click the Lock checkbox a second time. A minute or so later, it has updated all those individual objects or linksets, and the checkbox finally changes to a white box that is NOT checked. Now everything is unlocked. UNLESS you don't have perms to change all the parts. If there is ONE no-mod part somewhere in there, it can't switch from unlock to lock and back. The attempt to change them all at once will fail. I had just that situation a while back. One loose prim in that 2000+ prims had become corrupted, and even though I created and textured it, the prim thought I did not have mod rights for it. I had to locate and replace that bad prim first.

Yep it were a messified mess. The weird part was the relocking of prims. And the weirder part was me doing the same thing over and over for a few hours expecting a different result... yyyyeah. Might just have a bitty bruise on mah head from that one.
Even after deselecting the couple of things that weren't mod, still no go. And you bring up an excellent point, Ceera, seeing as I have trigger finger. I may have needed to sit with it for a while and let it calculate. Might have gotten a better result with a little more patience and a little less repetition.
