I sent in an AR on my neighbor's security orb that threatens to eject me from my own land. I received this very odd reply: From: rt@rt.lindenlab.com Subject: Could not load a valid user RT could not load a valid user, and RT's configuration does not allow for the creation of a new user for your email. Then I was provided with this website location: https://osiris.lindenlab.com/csr/home.php/ReportDetails/269e9e3af6d142adbde2cc5dd465adad,747967When I navigate there I receive an "Authentication Required" for "Osiris Access" at https://osiris/lindenlab.comThe rest of the email is a copy of my AR report. I tried inputting my user name and pw for SL but that didn't work. Soooo, what the heck is this "Osiris Access" and what does it have to do with submitting an AR? *Getting more frustrated by the moment* Thanks again for any help.

That would be the entry point into the underworld: Osiris - Other Names: Oser, Aser, Asar, Usire Patron of: the Underworld, the dead, past Pharaohs
ETA - see LL really is evil

Something went wrong.
You should try submitting a new AR.
I've gotten to the same url before, I don't recall now how it happened.
It's a system for LL employees.
If this happens every time you send an AR then you might want to file a jira issue and a support ticket if you can.

LL really is evil, but this looks merely like osiris is their AR tracking software and it vomited on your AR.
I would submit a new AR to report the same issue. If you get the same sort of reply, call an exorcist.

Thank you for the replies....I was thinking it looked like some internal LL URL as well, especially when I did a search in the support section on Osiris and couldn't find anything.
Will resubmit the AR and hope it works this time. If not, between that and the whacko security orb next door that seems to have no rhyme nor reason on when it warns it's going to eject me off my land - think I'll utilize the live support and have a RL chat with someone.

From: LittleMe Jewell In my mind, if he was a patron of the underworld and the dead, he was evil. Not "underworld" - you're thinking too Greek. The Egyptian afterlife was more like a parallel universe Egypt, after a fashion - similar to the original, but cooler. And speaking of cool, only cool people (good people, that is) got to go to the afterlife. In Egypt, there was no hell - when you died, if you were a baddun, and failed to pass the entrance exam to the afterlife, you were thrown to a monster called Ammit, who would eat you - whereupon you simply ceased to exist.

Oh yes. /me shifts her thinking into another set of gods and worlds.

Osiris is Félix Jongleur's avatar/virtual presence, "Lord of life and death", in the Otherland series. He uses it to trap the "Other". It seems like too much of a coincidence that that name was picked as an access level for one of LL's internal systems. I'm guessing they probably have a whole theme based off of novels like Otherland and Snowcrash. Thier idea of a tribute, I believe.

Soooo, what the heck is this "Osiris Access" and what does it have to do with submitting an AR? *Getting more frustrated by the moment* Thanks again for any help. Each sim has its own mailserver. When you raise an AR, the sim creates an email with your RL email contact address spoofed as sender. It sends it to <redacted>@secondlife.com (I didn't write the actual address just in case its not generally known and publishing it would invite abuse). When that email is received, the content is parsed and a ticket is created in RT - the software package that LL use for handling tickets. The user that would create the ticket is your RL email address. The permission settings in RT would need to be set so that the user has permission to create tickets. There is an Everybody group that would allow any email address to create an RT ticket, but this is probably not used so as to head off attacks on the system. (ZOMG! Maybe the reason for slow/no response to ARs is that the system is flooded by spammers? Options: 1. Finger problems / upgrade issues internal to LL have broken the RT permissions 2. You changed your RL email for your account recently and the change has not yet made it through the kludge/duct-tape to the alias set in RT. 3. Other borkiness

Thanks, Sling I was sitting there last night looking at the odd email from LL going...ummmm...WHA????? My email on file is the same one I've used for a year, so that option is out. 1 & 2 sound likely. I resubmitted an AR today and explained the strange reply on the first one so they didn't think I was spamming AR's.

From: Winter Ventura Dude, I totally watched Stargate.. they were ALL Evil. Ba'al was evil too.. but I kinda liked him near the end. I love Ba'al. But he's a Canaanite god, not Egyptian, ALTHOUGH during Ramesside times, he was also revered in Egypt, especially in the north, around Avaris in the Delta. Ditto Astarte/Ishtar-there are quite a few really interesting artifacts they have found in Qantir/Piramesse, the so-called "Ramses City". They also had, due to Astarte being a goddess depicted ona war horse, royal stables. They found the funniest artefacts EVAH in those stables a while back- bowls sunk into the ground to collect, erm, horses' pi$$, for ritual purposes. Seriously. I studied Egyptology and once did a paper on that in a class.... Whaddayamean, that wasn't the question? A while back I sent an AR that got me an error message email that it couldn't be delivered tothe sender due to an unknown address.....since then I've realised an AR in-world is just generating an email to LL. I resent the email with the error message, and that worked. But Ba'al is more fun.

I resent the email with the error message, and that worked. ...... I twigged the sim email thing after LL turned on SPF checking on their incoming email. SPF?? - basically a way for a domain to declare that valid email from that domain can only come from designated IPs. So: A raise an AR The sim sends an email to LL with my address spoofed as sender. My email domain has hard-failure SPF set. LL's email server checks SPF and bounces the email back to me. I manually raise an email and copy/paste from the bounced AR email. That gets through as SPF does not fail in that case. I did drop an email to postmaster suggesting that LL whitelist its own sims, since their sims are actually forging sender addresses by design - but no response or action so far. On a positive note, the process does give me a chance to review and edit the AR text that I generated inworld. However, it's just as well that I rarely have to raise an AR.
