It's not a lie. I was trying to get to CNN's website all last night, and couldn't. In fact most of my websurfing was either extremely slow, or failing. I live in San Jose, which is not far from SF where Linden Lab is located, so I'm sure the problems i'm having are related to the problems they are having. Just because *you* aren't having any issues doesn't mean jack.

i saw on the news that president bush is about to bomb sweden if sl is not back online soon..

I think congress should investigate and have hearings and spend lots of money to find out why sl is offline.

My surfing has been hit-or-miss. Some sites either refusing to load or loading very slowly, including (interestingly enough) my local newspaper's web site. Makes me stop and wonder where they are actually hosting it.



When I originally read this, I read this to mean services and corporations within SL. At the time, it kind of irritated me, as if it was saying "LL customers more important than you are being inconvenienced, also." In retrospect, though,that would be unusual for Teeple, who is usually a lot more tactful than that, so maybe it was intended to mean other customers of their ISP.

not a falsehood, i was trying to get caught up on my email and other varous things, an couldn't do it til this morning. whatever is going on its not just effecting sl.

My friend is in SF on SL. She called me on her cellphone to explain to me that she was not online this morning because every component in her apartment building fried. Both her computers, her TVs and her home telephone. Her building just fried every piece of electronic equipment plugged into an outlet for all of the tenants. This may have something to do with this outage.

I work for a company that provides Internet, Cable and Phone. TRUST! There is a problem that has nothing to do with the lindens.

If this is the act of terrorism, no need to send more troops. Just send SL users.

all they have to do is link a level3 news clip about MAJOR network issues and i`ll gladly move my flaming ass over to the ones wich are at fault and even *maybe* offer an appology to LR™ but as i don`t see any news sites or thier isp provide any info about troubles, LR™ has the credability of the R part in LR™

Hopefully this isn't something new that is going to start happening with the whole internet. Some sites are opening more slowly now. Maybe the internet is getting to bogged down with Youtube and Second Life taking up so much bandwidth.

This is a sad day for Second Life.

Sometimes people sitting in prison accused of crimes are innocent. But most of the time they are guilty. Now don't get your panties in and bind and start throwing your pies at me people. I am not saying a crime has been commited here. I just speak of an analogy. If SL wasn't having all of their recent transaction problems and then all of a sudden something like this comes along. Then it would be easy to understand. But something is fishy here. A forced upgrade occurs and then all hell breaks loose and then the grid is shutdown.

While I stand to lose some RL money here during this lockout, my losses aren't nearly as bad as those who purchased SIMs from the Lindens. If the Lindens are going to collect RL money from people in a virtual world where people rely on virtual commerce to meet their RL financial commitments to the Lindens, the people who paid thousands of dollars up front and hundreds if not thousands more in monthly tiers deserve better answers than "it's not our fault, we did nothing wrong". Who is going to want to spend money on such an unstable platform anymore. Outside of paying my SL rent to my friend on her island and tipping the occasional SL musician, I am losing interest in buying anything in SL. People won't buy my products, I won't buy yours. The SL economy is not looking very promising these days. Yet despite the lockouts, the failed transaction one thing is known. The Lindens will always demand that their tiers be paid regardless if they deliver a stable platform. No something is fishy here.
