No blog announcement that I can see. Tried to purchase a few items and 2 out of 5 completed, with 1 actually taking the funds and not giving the item.

I hate to make these posts because I know the effect it will have on the economy. But you have to juggle the fine line between allowing people to attempt to purchase and getting peeved or telling people to be cautious about their spending today.

Yep. I have a message in my in box from someone saying they just made purchases and didn't receive their items. I'll have to take care of them when I can log in.

I'm not sure if it's related, but I even had a rental box refuse someone's money, for the first time ever. It did seem to know to give it back though. This is, however, confusing to the resident. If they weren't paying attention to their Linden balance, it just looks in-world like they paid but got no time added for it.

I say we're better off yelling about it. I'll risk the short term losses if it increases the chance for a fix.

I had one not long ago when I was in. Money received - no item delivered. I was there at the time, so I dealt with it straight away. Nothing in my email since then.

Looks like the Sunday afternoon meltdown is two days early this week.

This just in on the blog...

From: someone
We are aware of multiple issues affecting the whole of Second Life and are working to resolve them as quickly as possible.

Please refrain from uploading textures or making any transactions for the time being. You may notice problems with logging into Second Life, grey textures/avatars, inability to Teleport, failing transactions.. among other things.

We will update this blog as soon as we have information to update with.

I'll always send out new copies if there's a failure like this.

Just crashed after experiencing what appeared to be extreme lag and with a message about netscape, which I've never seen before.

And now I can't login.

Well, I just managed to get in, drop an IM message on a friend, and get back out again. Took 2 to 3 times the normal delay to log in.

Nice time to go read a book, or something...

CONFIRMED :\ just had a customer call with payment 'timed out', vendor did not respond at all, but money transferred to my account and i had to issue a refund.

not uncommon the past month, since the last major round of grid updates/ip subnetting madness;)

this happens just for short periods of time, but is majorly irritating when it does... :\

This has been happening the past several months and been getting worse. Even if its not in the blog there is still a chance it could happen.
I wouldn't avoid purchases, just go over profiles to make sure that if one does fail, the store has a good policy for when this does happen. Especially if its an expensive purchase and you don't want to wait more than a day for your item to be sent to you.
Its simple enough for me. I got paid for the item, I will make darn sure that it will be sent even if I need to do it manually. It's copy only and it doesn't matter how many I send. It's the best way to keep customers.

Though I like screwing up cause I'm lazy and I like the bottom view :-), SL is scewing up and it aint fun. Every couple of days these warnings come out killing all sales. Those that depend on a healthy economy may be feeling the same as I. I would rather they close the grid even if it took a day or more and plug the leaks.

They can pretend that its not such a big deal but I beg to differ. We work very hard for the trickle of shoppers we are getting these days and the pontetial sales are stymied by what?

What exactly keeps screwing the asset servers up? We are never offered reduced fees for the constant disruptions yet we are expected to lose time, energy and $ from no fault of our own with no recompense.

It's not only money, I can't reach friends unless I want to wade thru "hippoes" or make a notecard with all my friends list and search under people and even my partner linked to my profile is often never showing in friends even when its "working", seldom can talk in group chat, conversations cut short or constantly interupted by people crashing and the lag monster has the hiccups.

My attitude has been taking a nosedive and I really hate it that I get to post some negative bs that doesn't help as well.

Plug the leaks LL, please.

What Ray said... thanks for saving me the typing, Ray ;)

These last few days it's been impossible to build...textures reverting (overnight!!), prims going oddly out of alignment / rotation, horrendous lag, ghost prims in the sandboxes, scripts behaving oddly.... It's just so frustrating. I take things into inventory, and rez them the next day only to find half the work I did the day before has been undone (and yes, I do name each copy of my builds with the date so I know when I've definitely saved something.)

Not only that but my customers are having issues rezzing things they've bought from me - they drop the rez box and only half the build appears.. Now THAT has never happened to me before. This has happened three times this week to three different people, so I doubt it's a coincidence.

Ah well, never mind...now it's the weekend, meaning everything will be twice as badas it was on Wednesday.

At least my ironing will get done this weekend.
