Has anyone noticed that the "Friends Online" feature has stopped working since the udpate yesterday? Or is it just me?

I know! Me, too, although I was just reading another thread here about stress, and I suppose that's an added one. But yeah, I *hate* not knowing who's online having fun when I can't be there. :)

Yup. I found out late last night that my friend had been online all evening. I just stayed off-line and worked, because I thought no one was there. :(

Messed up here too, an iffy in-world. So is gettin the money to show up, an messaging with groups, too.

I have to say, I'm glad it's not just me who likes to know what to expect before I log in. :)

I've been using the "Second Life Notifier," and at first I thought *it* was broken, but even the SL webpage isn't working.

They sometimes turn Friends Online off when the servers are overloaded.

Last night I was getting fairly consistent errors from LL's web cache server when I was looking at the forums, and sometimes could not contact www.secondlife.com at all.

Be aware: a few months ago, LL turning off friends online was often a precursor to search not working, and it was a short hop from there to monetary transactions not completeing and inventory loss.

SL totally sucked for me yesterday. Haven't been online today. I couldn't search inventory without crashing! and my friends list inworld wasn't working well either. My friends didn't see that I was online until I IMed them. Hmm...

On Friday, it was announced on the Linden Blog that the Friends Online feature will remain unavailable until further notice, here:

Secondlife.com’s other Web services and the HTML splash screen on the client login page are performing normally now, but Friends Online will remain unavailable until the engineers can debug its performance.

I feel a bit lost without it. Sometimes I don't want to log in unless I know my partner is online, so I check the friends list to see when he's around. Mind you, I guess if he did the same thing...we would never be in world together! lol

I guess we're just going to have to get used to going in blind, at least for awhile.
