Hi,
For some reason or other I can only check the prim count of items/objects that I own or have purchased, but not stuff that is for sale or owned by someone else. My friend can check the prim count of almost anything!
What am I doing wrong? Is there a client or Preference setting I need to adjust?

TOOLS menu, look for the setting "Select Only My Objects" and un-X it.

I have this too. I've 'solved' by right clicking on the object a second time once the blank editing box comes up.

Oh WOW... i've had this problem too and solved in in the way Chas described. Never realised it had something to do with that function, which i always have on for when i'm linking bits of stuff i've made. Thanks Jess!!!
