I'm not 100% sure if this is where I post this but here I go Ok we just bought some land that is on a shore line what our question is is how to edit the terrain texture to make it look like there is sand along the shore line? At the moment the grass goes right up to the water. If anyone can sent some instructions on how to do this it would greatly be appreciated

If you really want a sand texture, you'll have to create some prims to simulate a sandy beach.

You can only edit terrain textures on a private island sim and even then, only the sim owner can change the textures.

As the others said, you'll have to cover the terrain with textured prims to do that.
Even for a private sim owner, they can only control terrain textures on a sim-wide basis. There is no fine control that would allow one parcel to be a sandy beach, while the ones on each side of it were rocky coastline or lush grass.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.
