Is it just me, or have sim crossing become REALLY slow just receently.

In the last few weeks I've foud myself flying right over the next sim into the one after before i actually cross the border - it takes about 10 - 12 seconds just to cross a border.

It was never perfect, but it only used to take a second or two to "catch up"...

Anyone else?

Geez, yes. Sim crossings got better for a little bit but now they are more of a trainwreck than they ever were (for me, anyway.)

You know how you will just seem to fly across half the world and when it finally stops you have advanced about half a step? I seem to be getting a lot of that same thing just walking or flying in the MIDDLE of sims. Been happening for a few days not.

What's not to like about sim crossings? Cross one border, cross another three, free of charge, automatically!
On a sidenote: Airplanes should be made smaller and slower at the same time, with tighter turnrates to keep the same relative experience, so one can experience a good flight within just one sim!

Me too. I've been getting that a lot while flying....and being no where near a sim border where one might expect that kind of rubberbanding behavior.

I've also noticed this - when this happens when not at a sim border, it seems to be when another AV tp's to the sim. This looks like a new bug, but it's nowhere near as bad as sim crossings - glad I'm not the only one.

So it's not just me experiencing this. Also happening on the sea. Boat plows under water just like crossing the sim border.

I've also been noticing this for about the past month or so when some av's tp to my partner's sim.

There is a Jira on it if anyone wants to vote for/add comments:

If Moewe isn't small and slow and maneuverable enough for you, try Tiny Moewe! :D

I'm experiencing all of this lately as well.

Takes the fun out of the reduced gray textures the Snowglobe viewer is giving me.

This reminds me of the days when the lag would always make us walk into the ground.

Awww come on now - if Snowglobe is going to rez stuff quicker, we have to have some new issue to deal with and be able to fuss about here in the forums. I really am sure that SL will just cease to exist all together if "everything" suddenly started working correctly.

I wish I could say that those days are long gone. Had a good look at those strange sculpty trees underground in Zindra the other day (unintentionally).

Sim crossings re bad for me too.. I also noticed very bad motion lag in general. Even in empty sims.

Hahaha --- do they look as odd underground as they do above ground sometimes?

I do still walk underground now and then, but it is pretty rare compared to back when I first started. Hell, then it was just part of a normal walk into any store - at least now it is not an all-day event for me.

They extend way down underground, and have a useless plywood prim sphere attached to the base (obviously a noble effort to undermine the low prim movement activists).

I've noticed it over the past several weeks too. Also seen the "walking into the ground" again in prim heavy sims. :(

I get the rubber banding effect walking as well as flying - it has definately got worse in recent weeks. I don't have to be crossing a sim border, although border crossings are always bad. Because my shop lies on adjacent regions, with a sim border between the two departments, I find this Sl "feature" particularly vexing. :(

The rubberbanding is even more "fun" when you are walking on a prim surface and the overlap is smaller then the distance you travel during the handover, suddenly you are under the prim even with the overlap trick to prevent just that.

Getting fed up with these sim crossing issues... my mainland parcels straddle 4 different sims. Voted for JIRA above.. are there any other JIRAs that are related? Couldn't find any by searching..
