About a week ago ( give or take a couple days) I was no longer able to save pictures to harddrive.. that problem has yet to be resolved..well.. a few days ago a whole new problem showed up....anytime I try to open MAP, I instantly crash to desktop...anyone else having these problems, or know of anyone who is?

My graphics card sometimes gives up and goes totally black when I have a lot of windows open in world. I usually then have to reboot.
Is this what's happening? I'm starting to think it has something to do with Vista trying to render all my windows semi transparent, but that's just a layman's guess. Vista is a complete mystery to me. I'd like to turn off that prettiness. Who needs it? Papers on my real life desk are not transparent -- not very anyway.

I am still running XP and believe me, the only darn winodw I can have open when in SL is.. SL.. I never have anything else open or running..chances are it is just on my end..I just figured I would ask because I thought the Picture no longer going to harddrive was just on my end..then I found out that a lot of people are having the same problem. * shrugs* anyway...thanks for the reply..I don't REALLY need to use MAP anyway..or to take pictures and make them pretty in my cheesy photo program.

how much free space on the hard drive?
have you tried clearing cache?
The "map" is essentially just a bunch of textures. SL loads textures in world for you fine tho?
Which client/version#?

Guys on XP
1. Clear the SECOND LIFE CACHE
2. Run Check Disk - MY COMPUTER, C DRIVE , PROPERTIES, TOOLS, CHECK HARD DISK (will require a reboot)
Often things that look like hardware problems are caused by a corrupt MFT or some corruption on the hard disk.
3. Delete Temp Files
4. Reboot
