Apple has released an update that fixes several exploits including the one that effects SL. It is included in versions 7.3.1 and later.

And if you think Apple is the devil but can't do without Quicktime, try Quicktime Alternative, they have just updated their release to 7.3.1:

Now let's see if this thing AGAIN tries to make me download OTHER stuff too....like itunes, which I do NOT need and do NOT want-that's what I don't like about Apple.

...and yes, it does...grmbl. At least their downloads are pretty fast-1630 kB a second *is* good.

Just don't forget to uncheck all those "we want to send you spam" things!

You don't have to fill out any of the fields when downloading quicktime (I never do, it's one of the first things I try when I encounter a form, otherwise I lie).

That said, Quicktime Alternative (it uses Quicktime components but is a lot friendlier) has updated to the 7.3.1

I hope I downloaded the right one all I could find is 7.00 for windows...I got error message when I went to ttp://www.apple.com/support/downloads but I found something similar.
Here is hoping I went to right place.

I have tried everything

I have downloaded and redownloaded quicktime,,,,i even went and did the alternative,,,my tv still only plays movies,,,and videos,,,i still cant see any live tv..if anyone can help me id sure appreciate it

Quicktime vulnerability maybe just for PCs?

I keep pretty current with software updates for my mac, but haven't seen any patches or issues commented on regarding the osx platform and quicktime vulnerabilities. I assume its a PC problem only. Anybody know more? correct me if I'm wrong.

PS: just realized a general security update covered the quicktime issue for macs.
