Here's my crazy weird idea for the week...
(and yes, I know I abuse elipses)
With the noob dictionary and noob kits that came from the forum I started thinking.
Wouldn't it be fun to have a salute to noobs day? Everyone walk around with boxheads and non-prim shoes...

Ok, I just want a picture of 200 people with boxes on their heads and an opportunity to meet more people from the forums. However, it would be a good chance to pass around noob-friendly items, tips, etc to actually help the new people too.

As a matter of fact, I was counting on it.
Maybe I should design a box that says "not a noob" specifically for headgear.

Speaking of cuttting through the centre of the body I bought a Jimi Hendrix skin lately and I'm darned if I can get it to work...any suggestions...this is not me making any sort of admission to being a noob..it's just pure ignorance on my part.

What do you mean, "work?" Is it supposed to do something other skins don't do?

It covers your avi........so you can be naked LOL

But really, it's so you can look like someone or something other than what you looked like before you "wear" the new skin.

Exactly..so wearing a Jimi Hendrix skin I should look like Jimi Hendrix (with Strato guitar) and not Perre Anadine with Jimi Hendrix attached to his midrift...which is exactly the way I look when I click 'wear'

awwww...........it sounds like you have Jimmi in a box. :) I think when you purchased your skin it came "boxed". The box contains your skin and any assesories that came with it (like your guitar). You need to unpack your box. You need to be somewhere whre you can rezz objects then find your boxed skin in your inventory and drag it to the ground. The right click on the box and from the ever present pie menu choose "open". The you can copy (or move) the contents to your inventory where you can then "wear" the skin(s) and assesories. :)

Took me a very long time to figure that out.........so don't feel bad at all. :)

Hi!

You can't go around with a box on your heads, I already do that to satisfy my warped sence of humour. I made a box and added a picture of my avatar's head on four sides, I added a slow rotation script and a floating text saying ' Psst!.....You ain't seen me right!....'

The saying is an English thing, then I go to noobie places and have great fun as they take it in turns to try to get it off my head...well...I can't help it, it makes me smile on those days when you cant do much on here.

So, no you cant go around with a box on your heads untill I have devised a new form of entertainment..ha!...ha!.

I LOVE the idea of salute to noobs day! I'm planning on wearing as much of my inventory at once (including cars and hovercraft) as I can.

I saw a noob walking around that way one time, and it cracked me up.

Here's to noobs.

I take exception to the generalization of wearing non-prim shoes as a sign of "noobship". I have several pairs (and I'm a male), but rarely wear them anymore because I'm getting tired of them pulling them out of my bum every time I teleport somewhere.

But, other than that, good idea.

Ah, but you have chosen to wear non-prim shoes. Noobs have no choice, and therein lies the distinction.
