Try doing a rebake - Ctrol-Alt-R If that doesn't work, try relogging.

Pattigee, not sure if this will work, but it's what I do if I have an article of clothing that just will not come off (courtesy of Kitty Barnett *hugs*):
1. make a copy of your skin (left-click in inventory... ctrl-c then ctrl-v)...
2. then switch to a *different* skin...
3. remove all clothing layers...
4. clear cache...
5. relog...
6. wear the *copy* of your skin...
7. rebake...
It important to wear the *copy*

sounds like the nvidea graphic card driver issue it did/does strange things
it is due to the palletized textures, which are removed in the Release client.

Pattigee, one thing i didn't see mentioned...when did you last clear your cache file? It probably cleared when you downloaded the latest released client...but it is a good idea to clear it regularly anyway. Strange things happen to worn items, surroundings, inventory when cache hasn't been refreshed in a while.
I'm glad that you did get it resolved but you might want to remember to clear cache. If you don't know how, feel free to ask me or I'm sure anyone else here will be happy to answer.
Enjoy!

Enjoy! in maureens instructions it included a clear cache step It really really really sounds like nvidea we won't know though, unless the OP posts back with more info, ie what video card, what drivers, etc

I have a similar issue..
- Try turning off Palletized Textures: Advanced/Rendering/Features/Palletized Textures - Re-bake
It works for me.
