Hi Everyone

I recently learned of Second Life after reading a article and decided too try it for myself lol.

Well i like the look of SL but am a little unsure what too do first, i'm wanting too make my avatar into a japanese or chinese looking person and then start exploring.

So if anyone can offer suggestions on where too go and what is good here is Second Life too do.

Oh i'm a bit of a Manga/Anime fan and am looking for something along those lines as well to do. So any suggestions on groups or places are very much appriciated.

Thanks

Konnichiwa, Haruka & welcome to SL :)

My suggestion on how to get some great Japanese kimonos, skins, etc. is to go to the Gion sim. At the bottom of your screen, select SEARCH then PLACES and type in Gion and that should bring up info about it and you can teleport there.

There are quite a few very nice free items in the sim plus a quest to get other items.

I've spent quite a bit of time in that sim so if you need any help with info there, just send an IM to me in world.

I'm not either, but my alt is *grins*

Actually, I've always been fascinated by Japanese culture and wanted to experience being a Geisha. I made a Japanese alt for that express purpose and was beginning training in a nice okaya, but then between RL and my activities on SL with my main, I didn't have time for it. :( But I do know how to deck out a Japanese AV.

*giggles*

I'm not really looking for a geisha look so too speak, like i say i'm a huge Anime and Manga fan so i'm looking really just for a skin and shape that suits a japanese avi lol.

Hi Haruka,

There's a whole set of Japanese sims that often have anime-like looks. Look for things like the "Unreal avatar". The Japanese stores have some.. interesting names, too. One of them's called "techpanty".

There aren't that many places with an Anime/Manga context though. Nakama is one of the best known builds on that theme but it doesn't really have a social context with it.
