Was I just robbed?

I'm not quite sure what just happened, but it spooked me never the less...

While I was working on a rather large build in one of the Linden Sandboxes, a resident approached me. It was a female avatar wearing one of the older newbie sets. I didn't pay him/her much attention at first but kept an eye out in case it started a conversation (or pulled out a griefing tool).

It did neither, instead it started selecting objects in my build and then IMed me a short message containing the name of one of my objects... followed by a "thx"

At first I didn't understand, but when he/she did it for another of my objects, I ran over to my rez faux and deleted the whole project from the sandbox. Both of us fell to the ground, and although I was quickly able to return and clean up the remaining prims, the resident also returned where the build was.

So... was I just robbed? I was under the impression that to "steal" objects inworld, you had to use one of those bot clients that didn't allow the user to walk around as freely as this resident did...

Could be, but more likely just a silly person in a sandbox messing with your head.

Nope, nothing about that stuff that requires it to be run from a bot, that would just be the approach that wouldn't require effort to set up.

Sometimes the builders set their items so they rez 'for sale'. Usually it means that you get only L$ 10 for some L$ 150 item, but I noticed one once for less once.

I've never done something like that in a sandbox, but I did make a point of checking what came up on searches on my sims. Not every 'for sale' item could be bought, but worth checking and editing away.

This happened with a friend, when he noticed that a nice quayside and the sidewalk in private island was for sell for 10 L$, then he purchased it. But he bought the "original" and he now is the "owner" of its. If he is a griefing he could delete the objects from the island but he didn't. Despite that, he was banned from the land in the day after...
