Defending your avi from (random) attack?

Was minding my own business in a sim I had just rezzed in when another avi, some monster-looking thing, hit me with some sort of a club. At first it just knocked my avi up in the air, but when he hit me with his club a second time, my avi got knocked hundreds of feet into the air, and came down in some completely different sim.
It happened so fast, I did not catch the @ssh0le's name.
Needless to say, I am pretty F'ing pissed at this.
Is there someway to insulate your avi from such juvenile attacks? I don't want to stoop to his level, but I will NOT be abused.
Is this behavior tolerated?
Thoughts?

Get a mystitool and turn on movelock.

I believe most of the time, this kind of attack is recorded in the chatlog if you look at the local window in your communication screen. Copy and AR the A**hole.

I landed in a sandbox the day before yesterday, walked away long enough to get a glass of um....water, yeah, and when I got back to my PC my avatar had been orbited into oblivion. I checked help, bumps pushes and hits and there were none. So are there some weapons that are undetectable?

Earlier today some jackass in a compact car road over to one of my clan members and shot him with an orbiter.
He got away so fast we never even saw his name.

It won't help in retrospect, but getting a radar that constantly updates your chat history with who is moving into Long Range, Close Range, and Chat Range (like the free radar from Crystal Gadgets ) can be useful for narrowing down who is near you at any time. You just need to look back at the chat log to see who was close enough to hit you like that.
