Come and chat while SL restarts. This is one reason SL is not RL. RL doesn't have rolling restarts *expects someone to contradict him*.

I was expecting more of a "This economic issue feels like a rolling restart!"

I'm sure I did this once when my car's battery died.

I wish I could do a restart here in RL...still have to go and dig myself out from under the 10" we got last night

Ya know one thing I noticed.. sittin waiting to log on.... there has been some really pretty picks as the background to the logon screen hmm? Sighs. Missing Christmas already

Sometime I try to TP to my living room, but the region is down and I end up being re-routed to my bathroom and there is a whole bunch of people standing around in there saying "huh? How did I end up here?". Yeah... it's a little creepy.

if only RL logins were temporarily disabled.... i'd love to go back to bed for a bit. *sigh*

I had a root canal and crown down at the dentist's on Monday. After 2 1/2 hours of being on nitrous, Monday evening was interesting. Then the novacaine starting wearing off and OUCH!

In a week and a half I return to have a tooth pulled. That one I'm being put to sleep for...just the sensation of the pulling creeps me out, even if I can't feel pain.

Oooo....I could tell about the time I was having major dental work done and had been put to sleep right when the first of the 4 back-to-back killer hurricanes hit Central FL a number of years ago. Tornadoes were hitting around the area, alert sirens going off, law enforcement telling businesses to close and clear the roads.

And I was blissfully asleep in my dentist's chair while his wife was calling and demanding he return home; my mother was saying "But my daughter is in the middle of dental work," dentist's staff scared; just your general natural-disaster chaos.

Fortunately I have a very gentle, easy-going dentist and the work was completed, I was driven home in a pelting rainstorm that I didn't realize was the outer bands of the hurricane, went to bed when I got home...and was totally oblivious of most of the first of those 4 hurricanes.

And then the sedation meds and novacaine wore off and...well you get the idea.

Oh make sure you have some good magazines ready.

Rolling restart isn't affecting me. I'm only home from work because I hurt my lower back on Monday, but now I'm off for another chiropractor appt. I'm figuring things will be back to normal borked by the time I get ready to log in.

Okay, so the first time I ever colored my hair I was really nervous about it and no one was around except my husband. (In other words, I had no help.) We were living in California at that time, way out in the sticks, and this was the period when Enron and other entities were faking an energy shortage so they could rip the state off.

How that all fits together is that, after reading the instructions ten times, and putting that stuff on my hair, I waited until the timer sounded, and stepped into the shower to rinse out the color.

Kaboom! Right at that instant, the power went out.

Which meant no water, because we had a well, with an electric on-demand pump.

I freaked, and Mr. MacMoragh was totally unsympathetic.

"Don't be such a baby," was his only suggestion.

I looked at the bottled water in the fridge and wondered whether it would do... but then he said to me, "Come outside."

There was a huge bucket of rainwater outside the back door. Yuck-oh! He picked it up and poured it over my head as I squeezed the damn stuff out of my hair and my towel fell to the dirty ground.

Sorry, but no pictures. ha ha.

Inevitably, after I'd picked up the dirty towel and gone back in the house, the power came back on.

OMG, yes, I would have freaked, lol. Glad everything worked out
