SL On the Cell Phone

I guess the advantage of using SL on a cell phone is if you can't TP anywhere you can always throw your cell phone into the next sim.

I cannot do SL on my PDA but I can use Metabolt.net LOVE IT!

This is all streaming and it suks. Oh well you can do the same using remote desktop and modded GUI client, but that doesn't mean actually having SL on your phone.
I would like to see a compiled version of a text client (ala sleek) really running on a phone/pda/PPC... that woule already awesome (since there's no chance to run any 3d SL on a handled device today).

The phone in the video has about the same framerate my old PC with the gig of RAM and GeForce 5200 FX PCI did

and yep as the post above me said that about how fast mine gose maybe faster XD about 10-15 fps on 5200

LOL! I was just poking around & pricing what it'd cost. If someone can afford it, they have more money than brains.

I'm currently running normal SL on a 3g widget cos I just moved house and we didn't get normal broadband installed yet - to be fair it's not as fast - but fast enough for a decent game experience. I can't see any reason why this wouldn't be the same over a mobile.

Unfortunately I couldn't see any support for blackberry but I guess they aren't 3g so maybe that's why. I do also have an ipod touch so it would be interesting to see if it runs on that

I'll bet that the "how" has a lot to do with the advent of those Avatar Imposters we all love to hate.

I could see how this would tie in to wearable computers and Augmented Reality(AR) setups. I saw a great youtube up with avatars walking around in a RL office. How cool is that? But yes i'd rather work it through wireless than cell towers. Who the frak could afford that? Bring on the grid!!!
