Ok, the answer I'm looking for here could be an obvious one but I just want to make sure.

I'm a new business entrepreneur and I'm not completely sure about this so here goes...

Do prims of each object for sale count for each individual item? For example, I have some hair styles I want to sell. Hair style A has a total of 32 prims, I offer that style in 5 different colors all for sale as one bundle in the same ad poster. Does that mean that the total prim count for that particular display will be 160 prims? (32x5=160)

I'm assuming this is how it calculates, if thats the case WOW i'm gonna need a serious shop with loads of prim availability to sell my measly 4 hair styles in lol.

things inside the contents portion of your prim do not count as prims themselves.

so, a sign that is made of one cube will be only one prim, no matter how many heavily-primmed items you stash in the contents portion of the prim.

i hope this answers your question.

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

If the items are sold boxed, then only the box counts for prims against the land. If you display all the items, then they all count.

anytime you have a doubt, or are shopping, you can always 'edit' the prim to see how many prims it shows as being used.
