Beacons Always On

Apologies if I've posted this twice only I couldn't find my original post as there doesn't seem to be a search parameter that just shows me all of my own threads???

Anyway - my problem is that Beacons are always on. "Beacons Always On" is turned OFF in my View -> Beacons menu, and I have double checked in the debug menu to be sure.
The ONLY way I have found to disable beacons is to go to VIEW -> BEACONS -> "Hide Particles" which also prevents me from seeing any particles.

Now as I'm an inworld developer this is very annoying and essentially I have not been able to make anything that runs a particle script for several months (so you see this isn't a problem related to the new viewer).

PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Oopsie, I just found my original post, again apologies
