So I've added a couple listings to the SL History wiki, but I find that I am simply too new to really know a great deal of the history about the older locations Specifically, I've been mucking around with this http://slhistory.org/index.php/Sansara, particularly on the points of interest. It still needs a lot of work, and many of those same points of interest are blank pages or scant paragraphs. There are some big, important places with no information at all: YadNi's Junkyard is blank, as is the teen grid transfer station. Most of the infohubs -- yes, including Bear -- are not touched on at all. Even Mount G'al, Chalet Linden, and Montara Bridge are drawing blanks. If anyone who has been around for a while, would like to lend a hand, upload some old piccies of some of the site or share their history, I tink it'd be dandy. The Sansara page itself needs a lot of fleshing out, too. Anyone oldbies wish to lend a hand? Pretty please? Mari

I'll see if I can come up with something for Chalet Linden. People were really excited about the snow sims when they came out in 2004.

From: Ingrid Ingersoll I'll see if I can come up with something for Chalet Linden. People were really excited about the snow sims when they came out in 2004. Cool! An ya, I saw some old archives of the Second Life main page yesterday on archive.org. including the one saying that the snow sims had arrived. Those *hadda* be interesting times! Mari P.S.: Archive.org is fun for dat. I tried to join the original beta through it yesterday (no such luck - I coulda had some cool last names!), saw the main page from about the day I joined (almost 150k members, and about 1500 concurrent!), an found an old survey on making a mobile version of Second Life. Finding an archived Snapzilla was also a ton of fun.

When they took out the pages for the history of the TOS, I stopped bothering with the SL History Wiki.

I added a few more points of interest to the Sansara page, mostly from combing through existing materials on the site. I assume there is little interest in this project otherswise, an I've reached about my limit of what I know an can provide. Mari

I'll do some research this week too, Mari. Life has been weird lately, so haven't done as much as I wanted to.

I did some more work on Sansara, mostly text clean-up, including adding a skeleton entry for The Forest of Kahruvel (I've asked Salazar Jack to take this up - thankoo!) and Clementina Park, adding additional history (merged from the old Southern Continent page), fixed the Kissling page (an old dispute there; shame the history wiki doesn't have the same mechanisms as Wikipedia for dat). As well as the forest an the park, I made a point of interest link for the Appreciation of the Beta Users Memorial, and added both the Vehicle Sims an the Outlands to regions. Note to Oryx: the Islandia conundrum is solved! We were correct, and it is both Anshe Chung land *and* mainland. These were big blocks of mainland she bought in 1/06, an was allowed to do initial terraforming on by LL. Still *tons* of stuff dat could be added to. Here's some of the big gaps: * Chalet Linden * The Great SL Railroad * Montara Bridge (which might also be AKA The Eric Linden Bridge - more information needed!) * GNUbie Store * Mount G'al * YadNi's * Sutherland Dam * Just about every infohub (dat includes Bear. Go get 'em!) These could also use historical (even current!) photos. The Nuba Region is also untouched, as are about a kajillion sims. Does anyone know how many sims big the continent of Sansara is, or when the last one (prob'ly in Linden Village Annex?) was put in? I also added one of the few Corsican natural landmarks, Mt. Aracar, to that continent's page. Mari (Who knows she's been staring at the wiki too long, because she wants to make links to everyting using "[[ ]]"
