Eye vendors?

Yes! My next issue: eyes. I have been surprised at how much trouble I've had finding normal-looking hazel colored eyes that don't have unnatural light reflections. I just pretty much want one pair of hazel eyes. I bought a pair, and they have this weird bright light reflection at the top of the iris, which is pretty awful. Any recommendations?

If that Sin Skins sale is still on, you might play with a couple of the eyes that were in there (I hope they're still available after the sale). Those eyes have more of a painted than photoreal look, but there is something about them that makes me feel like they are really looking at me.

I'm not in world at the moment, but search for Cherry's Very Accessories. She has some good eyes for around $15L I think. Her place is on mainland and is bright purple & pink.

IMO The best photorealistic eyes in SL are by Edde Edman @ EDDESIGN. Also PIXIFEE and Folgies are great.
For something a little less photoreal, but superbly drawn, try the eyes at Simtropia, by Nadir Skolem. My light green eyes are from there, I love them, very dramatic colors.

See what you think of the ones at Robin Sojourner's AV shop in Livingtree. They have reflections, but eyes can't look realistic without them.

The hardest thing to get right is reflections- you do not want ones without - I don't have any hazle or wd just send u some but i wd suggest u go to the template page - http://secondlife.com/community/templates.php - and try your hand at it. It is not easy- and yes- you have to have some reflection or they look like newspaper - good luck

Park West has or had the best. I don't know if they are still in business though.

Viktoria, I do not see where eyes are on sale with the sinskins.

Amaranthim, I know there has to be some reflection, but it can be added well or poorly, and when it's added with a heavy hand, oy!

You might give Treasured Visions a try on the Magic of Oz sim.

Can't find Treasured Visions. I got in the Oz sim but apparently I could wander around there all night trying to find the eye store.

The only ones I could find that were suggested in this thread were Robin Sojourner, because that was a name I could find, and EDDESIGN. Everything else either isn't there, can't be found by a search, or I "don't have permission" to tp there. TY, though...I'm sure I'll find something.

Well- my eye offerings are extremly limited and i myself am not conviced they are the best out there- though i have had favorable comments on them i know i can improve- so i will send u a pair of say grey - that is rather neutral- dont have hazel- but i invite u to look at my clockwork ones- those are definitely NOT realistic but are still soo damn good at least the foks that have IM'ed sd so - Eyes r so personal - only u can decide what is the best cause whe u see them u will know

Ditto on what has been said before ... without the catchlights (reflections) the eyes lack depth. Look at *any* professional portrait photography and you will see a catchlight in the subject's eyes from the strobe. It could very easily be removed in Photoshop, but it is left in place to provide a sense of depth.

I drew a full set of eyes, and forgot the catchlights ... they looked very flat. Just adding a slight reflection opened them up.

I still can't find the Sin Skins eyes. There's a hallway with skins at Pixiedolls. The ones on the right are on sale for 10L each. They are all prefixed with, "SdR ll)." Those are the only on-sale skins I can find in the building. I don't see anything called Drow. I don't see any eyes on the right. I see a display of eyes in the lobby that are 100L each. Is that the sale price?

There is another hallway branching off the lobby with very expensive skins in it, "CHAI Nova," but I don't think there are on-sale eyes there.

I can, however, report that I have actually found Second Skin Labs. I can't find the eyes, of course, just the male and female skin areas, and the directory notecard with the nice link to the eyes does not take me to them, but I think I'm going to decide that the eyes I already have are good enough. Seriously. Most times I'm cool with working this hard for one item, because I consider it part of the "game," but this time I've had it.

Dark Skye Designs makes some really good eyes, and she has a freebie sample box with some of the more common ones available in her store and in various freebie places.

Talarus, bless you for the link that took me right to the eyes. They do look good! However I am thrilled with my Sin Skin eyes.

You can look on XStreet to and save your self tping around- glad u foudn some good ones

XStreet was the first place I had gone. I couldn't seem to find nice eyes there. I bought one hazel set and was disappointed in them.

If I may gripe for a moment about XStreet, I dislike how the vendors put every conceivable key word in their lists, so that if there's something specific you want, you still have to wade through endless junk that has nothing whatsoever to do with what you're searching for.
