Skirt problems

Anyone know why my short skirt keeps showing with the faint seethrough full length bit which presumably is part of the template for modifying the length - sort of as if the alpha transparent section isn't fully invisible.
It only started recently and turning off palletised textures doesn't remedy it. It also vanishes when I go into Appearance Edit then comes back on exit. It also vanishes momentarily when I do a rebake.
I've an ATI Radeon graphics card which has given no cause for complaint so far.
It's bothersome and I'm worried it may affect my as yet untested wardrobe.

I'd post a ticket on it.....I've seen that happen off and on with skirts since I've been in SL and I know there have been bugs related to this issue. I'm not sure what the current status is....but I know there's been some glitches over the past week or so. It may sort itself out.....but submit a bug report anyway.

which version of the client are you using? version number? I don't fully understand your description but this sounds like the disappearing skirt issue that was fixed in 1.20

I use the current version...... it seems like what you are describing is the same random thing I see every so often with my skirts....but it always corrects itself. I don't wear skirt layers as much, as I prefer prim skirts. The skirt layer always looks funny and never ever fits snug to the waist the way it should. But..... I know over the past couple years there's been a skirt layer issue that keeps resurfacing, where skirts either don't appear at all.....or look slightly transparent. I don't know of a permanant fix, so I'd submit a ticket with a snapshot ASAP since it wont be addressed by LL if noone demonstrates the problem.

Also I have the nVidia 8600 graphics card that currently has that layer bug.....so far the uncheck palletized textures has worked for me there. But the skirts...definitely a weird one....and I do notice that oddball transparency thing quite often when I first wear a skirt layer.

I had this happen a couple of nights ago, using a 3rd party viewer (Coolviewer latest version). Figuring it was the viewer, I relogged using the latest SL RC, same issue. I tried again with SL version 1.20, again same issue. Also, along in there I edited appearance, cleared cache and rebooted, all to no avail.

In a desperation attempt, I completely uninstalled all viewers, cleaned associated folders and then downloaded and installed SL 1.21. As soon as I logged on, same issue again. I knew the outfit could rez correctly, because I had worn it the night before to grab a picture of it. I tried switching the palletized textures thing, still no change.

At this point, I was ready to curl up in a fetal position and cry. As a last resort, I did a rebake. OMG, problem [RESOLVED]!
