Paid but no goods

I just bought two outfits, and paid - accepted the folders - even tried on one of the outfits. Went to try the other on - but it was not in my inventory. Tried another outfit, and went to put on the other outfit - now that's gone too.

It happened a few days ago with a purchase from a friend. I paid a total of 170Ls. He said he never received the money, but it is in my Transaction History - I clicked the 'you have paid...' box and said Ok to the goods, but looked in my inventory and nothing. We sorted
that one out between us.

So if you buy goods, then receive them, and the Lindens leave your account, what's the best course of action when you find the goods go missing ?

Hi, Jinny. The best course of action is to, as soon as possible, make out a notecard explaining that you never received the goods, include a copy of the transaction history, and hope they are generous and replace the item. Be sure to put your name in the notecard, and to also name the notecard something helpful (Like "No delivery Jinny <date>".

It is odd that this is happening so often to you, tho. Have you cleared your cache lately?
(Edit/Preferences/Network/Clear Cache). Perhaps there is something wrong in it.

Also note that, if you are in busy mode when you buy something, you will not receive it.

before any action towards the seller, Jinny, i hope you will clear your cache (twice) and see if you can tweak your recent items filter to see if they show up.

i think you will be pleased with the results. ;)

I'm just curious. Why twice? I mean, why would it not work the first time?

As for it happening to me, only twice so far and it was $L25 and $L75 so I didn't bother informing the sellers since it came to less than $.50. But of course, it IS kind of frustrating... I guess if the item in question was very important to me, I wouldn't hesitate to contact the seller. It just makes me feel cheap.

In-world issues being addressed.

We are aware of reports of (and have experienced) a variety of issues from in-world. We suggest that you refrain from any major transactions at this time. You may experience the following (yet, not limited to) issues: failed teleports, region crossings, L$ transactions, notecards not saving, and items not rezzing.

We will update this blog with more information as it becomes available.

-----------------

p.s. missing deliveries??
1) try relogging - this lately seems to have been a quick cure to missing inventory.
2) clear the cache!! it's simple! ;) edit menu -> preferences -> 'network' tab -> 'clear cache' button then relog - when you get back type 'asdf' whatever into the search box at the top of inventory to start it refreshing. (added points if you relog again after full refresh, as this seems to get your hard drive cache all the more in line.)
3) contact the maker, and give them time to catch up with ya - with the grid misbehaving as it is, they might be having troubles just getting around and communicating. hopefully this bad lagmonster will be dealt with soon

Ok - did the cache thing - nothing turned up.

Contacted the seller - she was wonderful - really nice and replaced the items straight away.

I think I am going to watch the blog a lot more closely from now on! lol!

Thanks for your responses.

Definitely have been issues lately. Two things that I recommend...

Change your inv to "sort by date" and have a look. If delivered, your new items should be at the top of a folder.

Search through your inv... just type the name (if you know it) of the item you bought, in the inventory search menu, you'll need to do it in both regular tab & recent items.

If neither work, definitely contact the seller. But, as already said, allow time for the seller to respond - us people on the other side of the world can be a little difficult to get hold of.

Always check 'recent items.' That is if it's working.
