Hey folks. I keep getting asked by new players and people wanting to get into secondlife where to go for things now that stipends are gone, etc, etc. And I figured that I could just ask you, the populace, where to direct them to Thx.

NCI, The Ivory Tower of Primitives and The Shelter would be a good start.

Yadni's also has some free things, although some are $L1.

I also (being a newbie) had found or been sent to this one store that had a wall of shoes that were all $1L and were prim based. Now I can't find it again. They were all along one back wall. I knew I should have landmarked it but didn't at the time. Maybe someone else knows the place I'm speaking about and can put it up.

I give them the notecard of people I don't like and tell them these people love helping noobs and to IM them repeatedly asking for TP's...
Just kidding...I send them to Odds and Ends $1 Store also...they have GREAT stuff for noobs :

I send them to Free Dove.
Almost all the major clothing makers have something there to introduce their lines to the new players (great marketing strategy, because those merchants are probably going to be the ones the new players shop at when they can afford to buy). ~~~~It's all free~~~~. There are things for both males as well as females. There are no freebie weapons (so the griefer twits can't unpack and start shooting at everyone else). There are notecard dispensers everywhere which give out handy guides on how to do things which include graphics (in the form of a texture).
If they want to be a furry, I also will send them to Gnubie (appologies for any spelling errors... i'm not online to check my LM's) because there is a Luskwood vending machine there which gives a free furry AV... a Ringtail cat, if I remember right.
