Right click the land, choose ABOUT LAND, click the OBJECTS tab, then at the bottom center click the REFRESH LIST button. Your name should appear on the list below. Click your name and RETURN OBJECTS.

"Return" doesn't always return everything.

Are these things, possibly, trees and plants?

Often times its just a glitch. After all, when all else fails, blame it on a glitch. *smiles*

Yes, I probably wouldn't do anything until after a relog.

It doesn't?

I just tested it on trees, and it returned them okay.

Close the About Land window, and then open it up again fresh.
Sometimes it doesn't update the window, even though the objects are now gone.

When I moved a while back, I had one prim that stayed in the sky from my skybox. I'm kinda OC so I just had to figure out where that one prim was and remove it. For some reason, the land tab return didn't work. I'd suggest trying "Highlight Transparent" as it may possibly be a transparent, or partially transparent, object.

Or it might be buried. Click Advanced > Rendering > Types > Surface Patch, and the land will vanish, showing any buried 'treasures'.

There used to BE a glitch where stuff didnt properly remove from the prims count. Only a sim restart clears it.

I wasn't saying Return doesn't return trees. That was a separate thought. Return often doesn't return everything, so it can be a risky thing to do.

Set auto return. You might have invisible prims up in the clouds.

Set auto return in land/objects tab to 1 and it should return to 0 objects.

It is possible to get the impression that objects are not being deleted if they are being continuously temp-rezzed by a neighbouring parcel.
Check for that by looking at the date and time of last rezz listed opposite the name in About Land / Objects when you Refresh List of owners and objects.

And as Darkness posted, sometimes prim counts won't get corrected until after a sim restart.
