I'm so fustrated with LL!!! Every update there is new problem. I'm sure LL don't even test the viewers before releasing them.
Since the update before this last one, I have been having trouble selecting prims near my avatar skin to edit while trying to make things. Instead of getting the edit pie menu, I get the avatar menu. It's so fustrating trying to make things when you can't select to edit.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a setting that can fix this problem?

Oh yes I've noticed that! When I was trying to move my eyelashes I kept clicking on my eyes and then my avatar would turn her head to look and then I couldn't see the lashes. It helps if you right click on something large like your hair first and then once your avatar is frozen and the edit menu is up you can click on any other prim.

A lot of times I'll put myself in a static pose (pose stand or just some random pose from my inventory) and use ctrl 0 to zoom in close to the problem area. Eye lashes are one of my pet peeves too.....either impossible to click on......or overly tedius to edit because they were not linked together quite right to begin with The never really look right....but then again...prim lashes are still way better then the shape lashes.

pose stands to the rescue (too bad appearance disables edit)
in the debug menu, RenderAvatarInvisible may help for editing object that just shuffled inside and are near impossible to grab easily otherwise.

I notice this happens mostly when I'm on a pose stand making something that is close to my AV surface. I've tried clicking or other things on my AV too, but that doesn't help just as being on a pose stand does not help.
I'll try the RenderAvatarInvisible, but that may be a pain to go back and forth.
Ha! There's another pet peeve Argus. Why do they always have to move things. I still can't get used to the new pie arrangement. It's not just LL, it's all program designers.

Easiest for me is to first grab something large (like hair or a shoe) in the editor, then go for the smaller item I really wanted to edit. It's almost as good as a pose stand since once you're in edit your avatar freezes.

It's almost as good as a pose stand since once you're in edit your avatar freezes. with things like editing jewellery links that doesn't always work. In the end I had to rez the jewellery I was tinkering with and jump on a pose stand and then slide it onto the av to be able to edit it. It is something about the wearing it that does it as I the rezzed jewellery just as close to the skin and did not have a problem. the only other way to tackle it is to move the worn item a little higher or at least away from the skin - but if you're trying to adjust to your body shape then the rez/posestand trick is a better one
