I have a group I run, and basically I want everyone who joins to keep the initial title given, but I also want to take everyone who joins and put them in a second role just to keep track of who is who, IE: males, females, etc. Is there any way to set it so the Everyone group cannot change titles and only see the one? Or how can I set this up so I can make my idea work?

i don't think you can do that. if you assign them a role, they will be able to choose it.
what you CAN do is go ahead and make those two more roles - one for the males and one for the females. BUT - assign the same group title user name as the "everyone" for both new roles - so no matter which tag they wear, they'll have the same title. only allow females to wear the female tag, and males the male tag. so, in YOUR admin area it will say: Females - and the title will read Everyone. Males - and the title will read Everyone. ("Everyone" being a generic term for whatever name you gave the 'everyone' role) does this make sense? _____________________

Invite them as everyone, then assign them to a specific role later on.

i haven't done that, so i don't even know if it's allowed to use the same title description for different roles. please update us and let us know how that worked out.

I have two roles that have the same tag description. One is for named tenants, the other is for their partners. Both are residents. You can't tell the difference unless you go into the roles tab to see who has what role. Although they have the choice of tag, the tag they have is initially determined by the role you invite them in. Or you could just make their descriptions identical, but invite them in under the different role.

i haven't done that, so i don't even know if it's allowed to use the same title description for different roles. please update us and let us know how that worked out. I ended up just giving everybody the default role then a second role to keep track of numbers that way. And I was allowed to insert the title twice so I guess it all works out. |
