Is it possible for a script to randomly TP you off of your property to someone elses?

Sorry about the insane question, but I've noticed over the last few days that while I'm sleeping sometimes, I get teleported out of my workshop above my store and I end up at a mall. My daughter has the same thing happen, and I've had a few customers have it happen to them as well.

So is this possible? Or is it a fluke?

is it something you are wearing? if its happenin to you and your daughter/customers it has to be something in common you all have. check your attachments.

If the path from the start point to the end point is push enabled, a script could pick you up and take you to the mall. Or a rezzer could fire physics objects at you until had knocked you to the mall.

This sounds like something people might enjoy. Instead of flying to the mall, or teleporting, just call the bullet cab and let it shoot you to the mall. Perhaps that could be the means of transport within the mall, being knocked from place to place.

If the mall is your spot, and you are in a damage enabled area, a script might be able to kill your avatar, which would return it to the mall-home.

No, it's not any attatchments that we are wearing. And the mall is almost a full sim away from me (and my plot is on a different sim than the mall plot). I'm so confused

oh, and my land for sure is not damage enabled. And I'd never been to the mall before this started happening

Gee... there really aren't that many ways to move an avatar. If it's not sitting on something, it can be moved by physics (as by attachment or some kind of external "push" tool), but then it can't move through anything non-phantom, so it would take some time and patience to plan and execute. Now, of course, if the agent *is* sitting on something (well, something with a sit target), then I don't think there's any way to dislodge it physically, and it would have to be that sat-upon thing that did the transporting. I just can't think of any other way to move an avatar.

what are you doing sleeping in SL anyway? That's what RL is for!

I never log out of SL unless I crash or have to reboot or have to do something else on my computer that takes a lot of my CPU resources.


And yes, I'm always sitting on one of my furniture pieces when I'm not at my computer, but I know that my couch is not TPing me to another region. And.....last night it TP'd me away from my couch but not my husband. This is so strange.

Does this happen when you first sit on the object and does anybody around you at the time still see you at your old location. If they see you fine then its just a fluke.

I'm having real trouble even coming up with a plausible "fluke" story here. It happens to you and your daughter, and some customers. And everyone ends up at the same mall... all starting out from your store location?

I'd really like to have a peek at the sit script in that furniture, come to think of it. The thing is, I've just recently been seeing some very strange sporadic behavior with llSitTarget() putting the avatar someplace quite distant from the target--outside the 300m range, in fact--but it's so intermittent and flaky I haven't formulated any kind of description to put it on the jira. But, that seems possibly related only if it happens immediately upon sitting, as Destiny asked.

I wonder about your sleep script, if something might be actually sending a tp invite and you're accepting it in your dreams ... Could be they are sending bots out from the store to invite all the friendly neighbors ... how nice of them!

it was happening to me and I was thinking all kinds of reasons it was happening. But then I decided to log on, using a different computer and found it wasn't happening, so I uninstalled SL and reinstalled on my main computer using the beta viewer and the problem was gone.

So I think that I've solved my problem. A friend of mine came over today and we both got zoomed off of my land at the same time and ended up in a new place, not at the mall. Now me, I was just angry, but he's pretty smart and knew how to check the bump/push log....which I didn't even know about.


It was someone pushing me with a script, though when I asked him about it he claimed to have no clue that he was doing it.

So I've now set my land to restrict pushing.

So my new question is.....will that keep this from happening anymore?

You already have but restricting pushing. You should ask the person that to remove the object that has the script that is pushing you. He may have rezzed it by accident. If he don't remove it AR it and let LL hunt it down and kill it.
