How to make it compile and SAVE!!!

Hi i have this script, its just a simple hovering text script, and i need multiple lines, but when i try to put /n in, it just displays it. and when i put in

llSetText("Old Street Furniture"+/n+"L$600", <0.8,1.0,0.0>, 1.0);

It just sais syntax error, i know theres nothing wrong, but when i close the script editor, and re-open it it dosn't save. i have another script to hide all script errors on the sim, and i know that line will work, how do people get around this little problem?
maybe its a bug or something

the \n goes inside quotes.

the \n is inside quotes, and its a backslash not forward anyway.

i have been bitched at 2 post things in verious sections, but as u can see from the image, half of the places people tell me 2 post these things don't actually exist. Unless they mean post it in a special forum (a different forum) somewhere

You keep getting upset when people try to ask you to post in the correct forums but why don't you at least make an attempt to do so?

THe scripting forum? Its really obvious. CLick the 'SL Forums" bit up above, then just scroll down aways. Not hard to find. Theres building ones, employment ops, services, special events, texturing.. just look for em dude.

Try scrolling down to the "CONTENT CREATION" forum. You will find it right above the "CLASSIFIEDS" forum. Both would be put to good use by you.

Err... in those screen shots, you're in the Resident Conversation area.

Judging by those images, you're not going far enough out...you're still in Resident Conversation. See at the top left where it says SL Forums>Resident Forums? Click the 'SL Forums' and it will bring up the rest of the boards.

You're just looking in the SL Forums > Resident Forums sub-section.

Try going up a level.

Anyway think im gonna pack the whole shop idea in, i have spent the entire weekend trying to set up this god forsaken vendor, and now when someone buys something, they don't receive the object, or there money back, but instead get a small icon with what looks like a notecard with an explanation mark on it. damn LL

and btw you can sell things with one prim, just sell its contents.. works fine, and you don't have to worry about the vendor that somehow ended up broken.

yeh i did that, and had a hord of angry customers telling me that they bought "the vendor object" rather than the intended object, the only way i can sell the object is if i place the object out, but the guy who i am renting the shop off of i don't think will let me use 4000 - 6000 prims 2 display all my items somehow

I wish it wasn't rocket science. it seems that things you would think are easy are damn near impossible and vice versa

Make the prim. Add the item you want to sell into the 'contents' tab of it. Make sure priviledges are set though, dont want someone else selling your crap.

Next, add hovertext script if you want, and after the text is there remove it, the hovertext will stay and they won't recieve a script they dont eed when they buy the item.

Now in the object paramaters, set it for sale, with 'contents' marked, not copy or original.

Set price, and you're done.

People will pay the object, and recieve what is inside. Even better it makes its own folder named whatever you named the vendor prim.
