Group Notices and Given Object Notices

Ok, I have something thats been bugging me lately. Whenever I rez in world, I am hit with all of the group notices, given items, and software updates dropping down from the top right corner.

There have been a few times now that I have deleted things by accident while tossing the notices in the trash..(since they all look similar). I realize I can always go back into my trash can and dig it out, but sometimes I am sent things (pictures, notecards...whatever) that I am not even aware that someone sent me...until a day or two later when an irate friend IM's me and asks why I didn't respond. (which i would have if I had known)

Case in point: A friend of mine had a birthday the other day and we sent him a birthday card which had been worked very hard on. I found out the day AFTER his birthday that he never even recieved the card (I'm sure he deleted it by accident while sifting through drop down junk mail) We ended up sending it to him again, but the damage was already done.

I guess what I'm getting at is that it would be nice to have "given" items have a different drop down area on the screen OR a different color of drop down box to differentiate between the types of notices.
Does anybody know if this can be done already somewhere in the plethora of SL options?

The only thing that might help is you can set your groups so you do not receive the group notices - call up the info for each group, on the main page there is a checkbox in the lower right corner. Uncheck it - no more group notices as drop down. You can always check them out over the group info later, so no information is lost.

Do you know if it will still send them to me in email if I am offline?

Notecards and textures will go into your inventory quietly, without any notice if they were sent to you while you were offline.

The only way to know is to check your "Recent Items" tab (assuming you're using a version of the viewer where it isn't broken), check the Notecards and Textures folder manually (we really need an "Incoming" system folder), or just check your offline emails before you log on who sent you something and remember to check when you're in-world.

That's been bugged for a few months as well now though.

You won't get notices from the group while you're offline, but when you're online some will still come through.

this is why whenever i send someone a NC or an object, i always send an IM also giving them a head's up.

i can't count the number of times i've been sent a NC for a party, wedding or whatever and completely missed it.

i too wish there was an common "inbox" or "received" folder that ALL objects, textures, clothing, etc went to ... even things you buy.

I'd just like to see a different drop down area from above instead or the top right corner. That would solve a lot of problems.

A different colored drop down.

Both of these ideas, I think, would be easy to do in the code.
