I'm looking for a couples dance ball for my home. The Intan one is obviously a good one and I could probably buy an empty one and then get the dances separately. Are there any good prepackaged/preloaded ones that only support maybe 6-8 couples and that dispense pose balls, etc.? Thanks! I'd just use it for personal use and for small parties.

I'd love to hear about other couple dance balls, but the Intan is excellent and so market-dominant that everyone knows how to use it. Jackie, it is really easy to put dances (or other couple anims) in one. You can extract the anims from pose balls you already own, and then just drop the appropriate configuration notecard (this sets positions) in the Intan and voila.

If you have made your own anims, it is tedious but do-able to make your own configuration notecard for them.

The Intan is so prevalent that its list of pre-supported animations is a great shopping index for couple anims:

If you want to get an intan, I'd be happy to help you load it up. I've helped out lots of people with it. Or I can just do it for you, if you'd rather. :)

Look into Henmations.

Their dances are motion capture, and it really shows.

They have dance HUDs, couple dancing setups, sex HUDs and furniture, and so on. Pretty much everything you might need.

Their solo dances are more dance club themed, but their couple items have greater variety.

There are people who will sell pre-loaded Intan balls. You can find them easily on Xstreet. When I was shopping around (about 6 months ago) the going rate was about the price of the Intan + dances + 10%.

The number of couples or single dancers that any system supports is determined by the number of scripts in the system. In other words, all you need is one copy of Slowdance v3 to add to the Intan ball and 30 couples can all dance at the same time.

Thanks, everyone. I found DMC's "Empty" heart shaped ball with some basic dances and animations preloaded. It is exactly what I wanted, but a little more than I'd wanted to spend, but that's (S) Life.

Next, as funds allow, I have to start getting the other dances I'm after :-)

At least the House Tour people will get to play with it next Saturday! Along with the animated rug, the swimming pool, the pose balls, the BDSM rack, the TV, the stereo...Hey...How come I'm the only one who's not going to be at my house this weekend? Darn!

Ricky (Shaftoe) was asking last week here on the forums about whether/how to move to Zindra, so Rickymations is definitely still around.

Ricky has been very helpful to new animators here in the Animation Tips forum over the years, so I think it would be great if we all shopped his place a bit to help with the move, or split his shop in two if that's what needs to be done.

Plus, he's a really good animator!

Agree, about Ricky. I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the Intan, although I have NO clue what I'm doing, trying to load dances into it......scares me to death but it really is the coolest dance machine out there.

As an Authorized Intan Couple Dance Ball Loader, I would like to inject some advice here:

1 - Go to the Intan Eksotics store and sign up for the web site at the kiosk there. You will then be able to get all the latest notecards from the web site when you need them. The web site is also a great place to look for dances using the Search feature.

2 - If an animation shop has them, buy Intan-ready dance packs. They will be in a box with the necessary notecard. You will not have to edit poseballs and, possibly, rename the animations. That will already be done for you.

If you are good at building, loading your Intan Couple Dance Ball is easy to learn, but some people get frustrated when first doing it.

3 - I would normally say here to join the Intan Eksotics Group so you can ask questions, but group chat in the big groups has been nearly impossible lately. So, if you are having a problem, go to the store to see which of us loaders is online and ask us questions.

4 - The ICDB comes with a remote control device called an Anyplace. The owner of the ICBD can place that anywhere in the same sim with your main ball. However, there can be no parcels between the main ball and the dancers that does not allow object entry. The pose balls are rezzed at the main ball and moved to the dancers. They will be stopped at the border of any parcel not allowind object entry.

5 - RTFM - Read the Friendly Manual. Most of the questions we get are answered in the notecards that come with the ball. I often copy and paste directly from them for my answers.

6 - Ask me questions here. I read the Forums every weekday and try to be as helpful as I can. I am usually online on the weekends, and don't read the forums, so just IM me in-world on Saturdays and Sundays.

Need to add:

7 - Do not buy the expensive "copiable " or "club edition" dances. They are not transferable, and the Intan does not require the animations to be copiable. Once you put a "copiable, not transferable" animation in your ball, you cannot send it to someone else to be loaded, or repaired (yes, that happens.) Buy the less expensive no-copy, yes-transfer versions.

Buy an emtpry HUD, Huddle, or Chim...

and fill it on your own.

Go to:

Henmations
Sinewave

to find dances. Henmations are motion capture, so if you're height slider is 50 or below (normal human range) they will look stunningly amazing.
