I thought I had overcome this but apparently that is not the case. So again, I am asking for help:

I run the newest viewer and I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT. The computer is about three years old, yes. I am running SL at a resolution of 800:600.

For some reason I have an ugly frog lense effect, the aspect ratio just doesnt fit. There are various results when playing with settings such as details, auto detect aspect ratio and resolution. Sometimes the problem just goes away, sometimes graphics are completely garbled to a point where you can't see anything (except the UI). Needless to say, this makes SL pretty much unusable.

When I first asked about help on this issue, I was asked my normal desktop resolution. That would be 1280 x 720. Also, my graphic card driver is updated and current.

I would really apprechiate any help (no, rolling back to an earlier viewer is not an option).

Thank you in advance.

This must be in full-screen mode, right? If so, is that essential to your SL experience?

I tried it and it is both in fulll screen and in windowed mode. And yes, full screen mode is essential.

Ahh yes.. the old fish eye effect. I never had a problem with it on the 1.18 viewers, but for me the 1.20, 1.22, and this new one have been getting worse it seems. Widescreen displays seem to be more susceptible to it. Windowed mode in a 4:3 ratio seems to help minimize it, or changing resolution to match, but that messes up your desktop and fonts. Makes one wish for a 'field of view' debug setting that one can adjust.
