Is that a new job title? If not, who is the current one, or who was the former one?
(No, I'm not considering applying.)

There is a job opening at Linden Lab for "Community Communications Manager".

Ah, thanks, I couldn't tell if it was a high ranking position or not.
It was just some web site I don't visit too often showing an LL employment feed tricking me into thinking more is going on than really is. _____________________

I see Katt referred to as "Communications Manager" and "Resident Communications Manager" but not "Community Communications Manager".
LL may make up titles on the spur of the moment. _____________________

LL may make up titles on the spur of the moment. And I must confess that in my current frame of mind as regards Linden Lab I can only imagine the job description to comprise "making up plausible sounding lies to foist off on our customers, carefully encoded in Soft-n-Fuzzy™ corporate doublespeak that would send Dilbert's pointy-haired boss running screaming from the room". Seriously though, doesn't the title "Community Communications Manager" just reek of being the modern corporate version of "Ministry of Information"? _____________________

This may tie-in with the recommendations of Big Spaceship regarding Premium Customers. I guess someone decided that we are way-different from their corporate clients and need to be treated like PEOPLE and not just corporate income.
they don't seem too happy about it because they have not blogged about it. Let's hope they don't hire internally. . _____________________

This. carefully encoded in Soft-n-Fuzzy™ corporate doublespeak that would send Dilbert's pointy-haired boss running screaming from the room". What? I don't have a pointy-haired boss! ![]() lol _____________________

[...] I can only imagine the job description to comprise "making up plausible sounding lies to foist off on our customers, carefully encoded in Soft-n-Fuzzy™ corporate doublespeak that would send Dilbert's pointy-haired boss running screaming from the room". Seriously though, doesn't the title "Community Communications Manager" just reek of being the modern corporate version of "Ministry of Information"? Although, to be fair, I'd guess that they need a layer of intentionally uninformed Communicators who don't have to lie to us (because they don't know better), and who don't need to sanitize feedback from Residents (because their superiors just don't read the feedback, thereby maintaining plausible deniability). Ignorance is bliss, and organizational engineering is all about spreading the bliss. ![]() _____________________
