Two new annoying problems...

Hi...
Just when I thought my SL couldn't be more irritating with my recent computer issues...I have 2 new problems....

First, for some reason...I keep getting stuck in white "stretch" pants...I don't own any. I noticed today that it happens when I put on some jackets. They seem to come with white stretch pants that were never there the million times I wore them before. When they are on, I cannot replace them with any other pants. The only recourse seems to get completely naked and redress in something different.

Second, I created a new folder to store several items gathered in a RP I am doing. For some reason, I can no longer drag the objects into the new folder. My inventory starts to scroll down to the new folder, the screen quickly jumps back to the top of the page. My inventory is not counting items in it at the time, and this was never an issue before tonight.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Blu- (who's time in SL has been severely limited to reduce the stress it causes in my RL)

The first thing with the pants sounds like it could be you have an nVidia graphics card with a driver version higher than 175.19. If that is true, then there are 3 possible solutions you can try:

1) Turn off "palletized textures" (Ctrl-Alt-F7), and then rebake the avatar texture (Ctrl-Alt-R). If there is bad lag it might take a minute or two. SL won't remember the setting, so you will need to do it each time you login.
2) Install the SL Release Candidate viewer 1.22, in which the problem is supposedly fixed (you can install it in a separate folder so that you can switch back if you don't like it).
3) Uninstall your driver and install 175.19 driver.

Note, there is also the possibility that the particular clothing item(s) are corrupted.

The second thing with the inventory, I haven't a clue. :(

No idea what's causing the inventory problem, but a way around it would be to open a second inventory window (in inventory window menu, File... New Window), scroll one down to the destination folder and drag items across to it.

Malia, thanks for that - I noticed the other day that I was having that same problem when I put on a jacket. Now I know what I need to do.

Out of curiosity, are you using Vista with a wireless mouse? Sometimes I find weirdness when attempting to drag inventory items.

Open a second inventory window and drag the items from window to window instead of scroll dragging - much easier that way.

Especially for those of us that are really bad about accidentally letting go of that darn mouse button too soon, and then having to figure out where we dropped the items or folder.

I really need an Undo button for inventory actions.

Thank everyone! I will try that when I log on again. Also about the inventory issue...DUH...lol...I knew that...just had a brain fade I guess. Lol. I use to move inventory stuff that way a long time ago. Then I didn't do it for a long time and must have forgotten. GOD I AM OLD!
