if you have a display at SL5B and you want others to see it, please post the sim name, coordinates and title of your display in this thread. it's so evilly lag-o-licious over there, i finally had to give up. also, if you have a favorite pick, please post those coordinates, etc as well.... so we can all enjoy the displays. thanks.

I agree - I do not want the full list and I do not want to visit all of the sims. Even with this nice new computer, there really is still lag in SL and if you are to enjoy the exhibits, you cannot set your graphics way way down. So, yes, please RA folks - list the neat places really worth the time to go visit.

To say I fell in love with the Pagoda in Prim would be an understatement. The wood work, use of water, and all the wonderful surrounding build is really something to see. (^_^) http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=286152I can't not mention the Kids5B Exhibit in Move. It's loaded with symbolism starting with the stark black exterior and the fact that you have to crawl to enter and exit. It's a really good way of representing what the kid AV culture is like. Once you get past the artificially dark exterior, you really get to see that we're simply having fun like everyone else... If not having a bit more fun sometimes. (^_^) http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=286235I found the Muslim exhibit in Rebake a little suprizing, fascinating, and very encouraging. Religion come across as a very taboo thing to talk about in SL culture. I've seen Christian, Buddist, and various other builds around, and was pleased to finally see some Islamic representation here. (^_^) http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=286286The education hall in Linked is simply an epic sight to be seen... And a good excuse to crank up your draw distance if you haven't already. The patterns and layout make for an extremely impressive place to see. On both day and night settings. (^_^) http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=286417http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=286419The Darkness in Sculpty is a really nice collection of dark art and inworld photography. The collection of haunting imagery is beautiful and well rendered, with some parts of the exhibit combining the photography with built items around it. Plus, there is one image there that was created in support of child avatar participation that shows a RL picture of a father with his children climbing all over him. It was combined with a statement about the possible perception of the almost-censorship of child and family imagery in the event. http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=286767http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=286768I was having difficulty getting screenshots of Maris and Lokis exhibits, I'll keep trying this week, but they're close to each other and are very close to the NCI exhibit with Carl's map collection. That sim seems to be having the most problems though. (T_T) I was able to find Winter's build where she shows us a world without wonder, play, joy.... I'm glad it was permitted.... It says a lot. http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=287051And, of course, can't leave Caledon out. (^_^) I enjoyed resting in the mushroom out front while the trees were loading, and the calliope plays a really nice song. There are representations of Desmond's philanthropy and various other themes found in Caledon including the publications, libraries, and factories. (^_^) http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=287301http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=287305I'm still not done visiting the whole place... I swear I'll get pics if Mari's and Loki's work once I can get all the textures and sculpties to load before crashing. I'm glad I decided to check it all out from the beginning. I have been the "first child avatar" a lot of people have ever seen for a lot of the week. And, I've been enjoying the event for all the creativity around and all the groups represented. I do believe there would have been a slightly better turnout and some more impressive presentations if "mature" content were allowed. But, for what it is, I'm very pleased with the event. (^_^)y

I assume you turned draw distance way down an alla dat? I have a few on Snapz, an linked a couple above, too. I love Wiunter's build, though it's a shame they shoehorned all dat other stuff around it. Having the "clubby" build pushed right up against hers really underscores her message, no?

I don't have the slurls, but the Toxian City and Luskwood builds are extremely well done. They both give a nice level of introductory information about their respective communities. The Luskwood exhibit is also a nice historical piece on SL and a guide for building a fun social area.
I've only made it through half the sims so far, but those 2 were the best examples of what I expected to find so far. There are several exhibits that show pictures or example builds, but few that do as good a job at saying "this is who we are".
There's also a neat Time Capsule slightly west of the Caledon exhibit (another must-see). Anyone can add items to the contents. Stop by and add something that represents what SL is to you this past year.
