I found a web page that offers Linden dollars for sale. This person states that they are authorized by Linden Labs to sell them at this site. This sounds really fishy to me. Could this be true? Can I put the web site here so everybody could see?

Simple answer - they are most likely not authorized. The Lindex, SLExchange and Anshe Chung are the few examples off the top of my hat that are "official". Every other site, I would not trust as far as I can throw the webmaster. ;)

If they are authorized, they will us the Linden Lab Risk API.

Ask them.

That list does not appear to be exhaustive since it does not list SLExchange. The bottom line is if the site does not use Linden Lab's Risk API then it is not an approved Linden Lab site and if you buy Linden Dollars from a site that does not use the Risk API then you risk having any Linden Dollars you buy from such a site being confiscated by Linden Lab as well as up to an additional 50% of any such amount as a penalty fee.
