The answer is none. None more slower.

And what's with "google-analytics.com" that appears at the left bottom of my page while it is loading. Has that always been there?

The turtle in the wheel must be taking a nap. Google is taking over SL. Hopefully Google has better management. All speculation on my part actually, lol. :D I believe it always said that.

Ok. Maybe because it loads so slowly, I have time to see that as well as count how many lines of resolution I have on my screen and rearrange my spice rack alphabetically.

It's been there quite a while I think.

It's funny, I think I should log into SL and wait for the website to improve. Usually it's the other way around.

I still haven't seen the Google thingy you mentioned.

It's Slooooooowwww, and many failures to navigate. Almost every page loads with "error on page" or "done, but with errors on page" messages at the bottom.

Oh well, maybe the grid monkeys will just bork the website this weekend instead of the grid.

And it will.
Friends Online didn't last long :(
It's off again. I'm not sure how long it survived - or if it really came back at all.

Friends Online Web Page Restored
Thursday, October 4th, 2007 at 10:35 PM PDT by: Teeple Linden

Last Friday, the Friends Online Web page was taken out of service as part of an effort to debug our Website’s performance.

It’s back in service tonight. Thanks for your patience!
[[[[[[[[

Comments were off.
Just as well. You know how people like to share.

SL's database servers and infrastructure are simply not up to the job.
There is no way in hell that a vanilla bulletin board would creak along like this, even if was hosted on a rusty Apple II.
What we are seeing is the effect of forum traffic going through LL network and proxies.

Back on September 28th they blogged about web server issues. Friends was taken out. Login Splash screen html was borked. They obviously were so alarmed that they referred to 'engineers' rather than 'grid monkeys'.

This is not good.

Lag in SL we are used to.
Lag in LL communications to its customers ... ditto.
Lag spreading to a website -------- OMG.

My RL house is a lot cleaner and SL seems unbelievably fast compared to this site right now. Perhaps that's the intention .....

Is this a trick question?

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

If you have paprika and smoked paprika, do you put them together because they are both paprika or so you put the smoked paprika over by the salt and sage and leave the paprika by the pepper flakes? Are smelling salts considered a spice? How about ammonia? Does liquid smoke go under "smoke, liquid" or "liquid smoke"?

The answer to all of the above, is of course, cumin.

You put the paprikas together.
Smelling salts are NOT considered a spice.
Ammonia is not considered a spice (but it is an important component in fertilizer).
Either placement of the liquid smoke is acceptable.

Right next to the curry, of course.

Ammonia isn't a spice? But I like the way it feels in my lungs when I mix it half and half with bleach. Mmmm. Spicy.

(Disclaimer: Please do not mix ammonia and bleach. Trout Recreant, his RL counterpart, and any alts he may or may not have access to, and any corporate entities associated with the foregoing do not advocate creating highly toxic gasses in the comfort of your own home or in public, unless said gasses are created as a byproduct of Mexican food, in which case, considerable hilarity might ensue. Breathe chlorine gas at your own risk. Please make send me all your Lindens, stuff, and RL cash first. You won't need it anymore.)

Just don't stick it in your anise and you'll be fine.

This is a trick question, right? Because I keep my paprika in the fridge where it's supposed to be.

That's right Trout, go ahead and laugh, like the subtleties of sorting are a trivial matter.

On the bright side, we librarians are here to give you the benefit of centuries of experience in the field of alphabetizing. So when you get to the L's and wonder if Lemongrass goes before Lemon Pepper, you know who to call. :D

---

And in answer to Mr. Figtree, yes it can get slower. I have experienced it many times.

During power outages.

rearrange my spice rack alphabetically.

 You mean it wasn't already? What's wrong with you, man?

[Edit: If you actually loved your spices, you'd store them whole in the freezer, and only take out and grind what you need when you need it. Not that I do that of course, but if you care enough to alphabetize, you might as well do the whole shebang right. :p ]

For God's sake don't ask a question like this! It will just motivate them to find a way to make it slower.
