OK so how does one abuse report (AR) a forum thread ?.

I see many locked due to .. ( Source: AR )

I have yet to understand the mentality of those who AR threads. If you don't like it, don't read it, pretty simple. The only reason I can come up with for censorship is that the AR sender is unable to debate the person honestly.

LOL - Thanks Ann. Not to mention, I did all that before lunch! Har will be just fine as soon as we fish him out of the pool and dry him off. All he really had to do was hit the "fly" button on the way down and he would never have splashed down like that.

As for the girl, the pie was delicious and we split the L. I got to keep the car, so everything turned out just fine in the end.

I see two reasons:

> If you really think a thread is so foul it is damaging to other people to even read, then ARing it might get it locked quicker, and thus fade it from view. However, one would have to be VERY confident of one's own judgement. Haven't seen a thread in these fora so clearly evil that this seemed the right action.

> To get Strife to look at a thread where a person needs help quickly. Yes this is gaming the system. Oh well.

I'm with Chris. There's one thread in this forum right now that I would dearly love to see locked, but it would be selfish of me to apply my desire to see the thread die an early death to everyone here. I don't want them interfering with me, so I have to give them some leeway to do as they please (google: golden rule). If I disagree with it, I should post my disagreement. I have, and I intend to ignore that thread from this point on. See how easy that was? Now I don't have to read it and, without me and to their heart's content, people can beat themselves into a lather about an issue that will never be resolved. Problem solved. No need for an AR. If you don't like the content or you can't form a coherent statement of your position, don't read the thread. If it needs a lock, I have complete faith in Strife's ability to suss that out on his (or her?) own.

Sorry Racal. I wasn't aiming any of that at you. I've gotten a couple threads locked for ARs for reasons that are a complete mystery to me, but if they were upsetting to people, then I guess that's ok. I never meant to hurt anyone.

Anyway - you have your answer there, so AR away. Sooner or later, I'm bound to come back and post a poorly dubbed Bollywood movie, Ann will serve pie and someone will ask you if you want sex now. The correct answer to that question is, "do you match?" Now that I think of it, this stuff should all be in the new resident kit.
