Hello, I am writing to you all for a solution to a problem I am currently having. I get intense lag if there's more than 10 people around me. I'm not talking about server/network lag, I'm talking about Client lag.
Here are my system's specifications: Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.3GHz w/ 1033 FBS (four cores) RAM: 4GB DDR2 800 MHz Video card: ATI Radeon HD 4670 w/ 512MB of GDDR3 memory Hard drive: 640GB @ 7200rpm OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
Video card has the most updated drivers from ATI, and all other drivers are updated.
Those are my specs, yet I still get intense lag, and I shouldn't be! Any ideas?

As I use Nvidia video I cannot be of much specific help, but there are some general things you can do.
First try running one of the standard system benchmark programs, one that tests both CPU as well as sound/graphics performace. This should help you spot any general problems with drivers or something being mis-configured. 3DMark is good and they have a free version.. I would look at other games you have, or anything that can give you a nice general benchmark that you can compare to other systems with your basic configuration. This should help you find your problem.. If on the other hand, you system does really well on the standard benchmarks, then you have a problem with your SL install or configuration. My system is a few notches down from yours and I get pretty good performace up to about 30-40 avatars, and then nearly all that comes from my pathic network connection.
