how i look rite now http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk283/AnthroDoggeh/Snapshot1_002.jpgwhat i should look like http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk283/AnthroDoggeh/Snapshot2_001.jpgand yes i know some of my colors are mismatched atm lol but i mean like the hair and collar and belt? i have no idea what caused this to happen, but it is suddenly only normal looking if i put the graphics at a high detail (atmospheric shaders on etc) but that laggs my pc too badly. apparently im the only one who sees incorrect textures on my avi. forgive me if it has been resolved elsewhere, i tried searching and didnt rly get anything i was looking for. thx for any advice in advance --

It is just the prim textures downloading slow or not at all. many things like pending downloads or just plain slow asset server will cause it to stay gray. When the grid is packed and heavy load you can experience this a lot.
Try right clicking on your hair , sometimes that triggers priority download and will rez

Many of us have seen major improvements, it could be better but it's way better than it's been in a long time. You might try that out before banging on your system or network etc. Even if the RC doesn't turn out to be what you want as a daily driver, you'll know if that's where your problem is. (ETA: twiddling the graphics slider probably helps you now because it can tickle the list of textures that need downloading.)

Nvidia Video card? I have the oposite problem with my nvidia if I update the drivers. I have to shut Atmoshpheric shaders off . Using the older drivers i dont have any problems .

From: SchizoFurenic Nirpaw What Causes This Texture Problem??? (grey hair) /me often wonders this when looking in the rl mirror. I always just put it down to age, but if it's a texture problem there is hope! Another thing you could look at is your connection speed, especially if others are seeing you normally. I have no idea how that fits in with the atmospheric shaders thing though.
