Is it possible to have more than one Avatar? I ask this because I believe someone I used to know is now approaching me in the form of another Avatar.
If you can have more than one Avatar....how is it done?

as many as you like unfortuantly
all you need to do is go to the sign up page and create another account, it used to cost you 10$ US but thats no longer, which is why we have hundreds of 'bots' slowing down second life

If you can have more than one Avatar....how is it done? Those are alts. You get them by just creating an new account. Right now, there is no charge and you can have as many as you want.

Actually, they've been tinkering with the Knowledge Base again and, shockingly, the information is somewhat contradictory. From: someone Your first Basic account is free, and we won't charge you for a few alternate accounts. If we find that you've been creating an army of alts, we may charge a small fee of US$9.95 for the creation of each additional Basic account as a way to recoup some of the cost of maintaining the accounts for you. From: someone Currently, you can create as many additional Basic or Premium accounts as you want to pay for, with the following limitations:
* You can create up to five accounts per household.
* You can create no more than two accounts in a single 24-hour period. So, if we believe what this says, they may or may not charge you, and you can have as many accounts as you want, as long as that isn't more than five.

its 5 per e-mail. I was playing with names when I first came here, and on my 6th attempt to find a name I liked I got a error message when I tried to register.
So I changed to a g-mail accound and it went through fine.
