HI, I purchased a plot of land on my sim for extra prims 2 days ago,SL took the money from my account but I did not get the land.I have checked my account again and it shows the debit ok ,so I have a record.I also IM'd the owner to see if he had got the cash and he replied that he would look into it.Can you please advise on what my next step should be. cheers

Yeah a support ticket. Just to double check, the transaction shows to be of Type "Land Sale" with appropriate sized "Desc" and correct "Destination", right? And if you check World / My Land there aren't any unexplained parcels there? If that all looks reasonable, then I'd definitely file a support ticket ASAP. (It could be that it won't still be possible to get the land--for example if it sold again during the time your transaction was wedged, but even if that's the case you should at least get your L$s back and be able to try again.)
