I am looking to put together a group dance ball for our pub...I know that Sine Wave has great dances, but I am a little unclear on how to put the dances into the orb...do you do that through the content tab in Edit? And where does one get the orb? Are some better than others?

If you use a chimera or something similar its very simple.. you just add the dance to the content of the orb.

How you put the dances in might differ depending on the ball. I have a dance ball I created using a free script I got somewhere so that's possible. It's more limited than those you buy, however.

Now, I am not sure, are there different orbs for dance club vs. personal use?
Personally, with my orb I drag it out onto the ground, load dances from my inventory, and keep track of them using the content tab
When you get the orb (whichever it may be), it should come with a set of directions that help you step by step. A friend passed hers on to me, so I do not know where to purchase one.
This probably wasn't much help, but it's all the little information I know. lol.

I just recently bought one and filled it with dances from Sine Wave... All I did was to 'edit' the orb, go to contents and drag in the dances from my inventory. I would imagine that's what one would do with most of them.
By the way, the dances from Sine Wave are fabulous.....

(and I am *always* impressed by people who can create these things... )

I think I need to hop over to Sine Wave to do some more "test" dancing!

My suggestions for Dance Orb are:
The SexyDance by Sexy Tech if you want patrons to be able to move around while they can't, basicly a standard orb with the ability for the owner, hosts, staff, ect. Basicly a standard Orb with lots of options.
The DanceMaster, its a formation dance machine so patrons will be "Pinned" in place, but again lots of great options.
You can find plenty of orbs like the SexyDance Orb, with various options so find the one that is best for you.
Also, though more involved in setup, take a look for the Intan Couples dance ball, this is great as it lets your patrons choose what dance they want without waiting for a particular set to be free, they can dance anywhere on you dance floor. Uses only 1 prim when not in use, and 2 prims for each couple and standard works for up to 15 couples.
