Hi, has anyone any ideas, please! I have a friend who has just started triple repeating herself every time she Chats. It ONLY happens at the club where we both work, Fey's 5 in Tecta sim. She's relogged repeatedly. Taken off sl and done a completely clean reinstal. She's tried using the Nicholaz viewer and she has taken everything off in our changing room. Nothing works. It keeps happening. This is what we see when she Chats:-
Fred: Help I keep repeating! Fred: Help I keep repeating! Fred: Help I keep repeating! Fred: This happens every time I Chat. Fred: This happens every time I Chat. Fred: This happens every time I Chat.
If anyone can shed any light on this the staff at Fey's would all be very happy.

I know you said that she took everything off.. but have her double check by typing "worn" in the white search field of the inventory. Attachments can sometimes echo chat. Have her detach EVERYTHING and then try talking.

If it is only happening in one place, it is most likely a chat repeater. It's a simple listen/say script stuck in an invisible prim somewhere, set to listen for your friend's chat. I would turn on the beacon for scripted objects, and see if you can determine where it is. Also, if the thing is speaking... it's probably shooting those "swirly chat particles", so look for them as well.

Burnman, the script is white. It's just like an echo of her chat. She is on WiFi but why does it only affect her at the club and in Tecta? She's stripped and typed WORN in Inventory, nothing. Help!

Help! because clubs are notoriously laggy? and being in the club is chewing up her wireless signal.... that's my guess... and I'd bet she has movement problems there too

This was happening to me a few weeks back. Everything I said was showing up twice, in global chat at the club I work, at my home parcel, and anywhere else I went, so I knew it wasn't a scripted object. What was worse...is my chat was doubled in IMs as well. I relogged several times to no avail....but the problem went away on it's own the next day.

This is only happening in that one parcel, yes! She is on wifi but so are others at the club. One staff member has terrible problems and keeps crashing because of WiFi connection. Plus, this only started today. No one else is affected. She's also been sent up 500m above the club and still the same result so it can't be a listener. She's also been taken to other very laggy clubs but there it is normal. Baffled!!

if you look through the knowledge base there is some info about wireless connections they are weird to say the least
(on my laptop when I use wireless I get all sorts of weirdness, but my desktop pc wired to the modem has no weirdness)
and *knock on wood* have not crashed much lately either

If this is coming thru in regular chat, I'll bet with 99% certainty that this is some sort of Networking issue. Have your friend check ctrl-shift-1 to look at the stats bar. I'm guessing that if you look at it, packet loss is going to be off the scale. Now, what to do about solving a packet loss problem is another complicated matter alltogether Wireless connections can indeed cause packet loss issues, but so can ISP issues, network card - even network connectivity on LL's end (although many folks would likely be experiencing this if it were the latter case). Good luck!

Wow, if you have this "bug," or whatever it may be, happening to you, then be careful about shopping. I witnessed this at my shop today. Was just sitting and working on a project when someone purchased a copy item from my shop, and bam 1, 2, 3 payment notifications pop up almost instantaneously. I went to the transactions page just to verify the actual number so I could give a refund, and the guy walks over to me and says Hey, in triple chat. Yikes. What ever was causing that also caused him to make 3 purchases with one click...

Shared?

I'd also find out if she is on a shared connection at any stage. This issue was a common one in Live Help and invariably was due to shared connections.
