Hmm, there's nothing really helpful there, but thanks for pasting.

Total Customers Spending Money (>= 1L$) In-World (2007 September) 302,054 *
Total Customers that actually got past OI/HI and still stayed on, but not spending at least 1L$ = X

The other 10M - 302,054 - x are somewhere in Inventory

Who the heck does not spend at least 1L in the course of a month?

That seems to tell me the number of active players is around 302,054.

Banned and cancelled accounts (and accounts who lapse on payment) do get deleted entirely and removed from the stats.

---

Does anyone know whether your forum account gets created the first time you try to visit the forums, or as soon as you put in payment info?

If it's the latter we have 800k verified accounts and 9.2 million unverified "freebie" accounts, which wouldn't actually surprise me.

ah yes ofcourse, that makes sense when we got almost 4million accounts increase in like 3 months

LL will do anything to inflate any figure that will make them look good so don`t believe that for 1 single nanosecond heh

Forum access was always restricted to verified accounts as far as I know (I know one unverified from before the "flood gates" and she never got her L$50/week stipend, and said she never could access the forums).

There was a one-time glitch where a handful of unverified accounts did get access to the forums, but that was very limited in time I think (from what I remember from Torley's post about it) and LL never did revoke their forum access.

(The 800k figure comes from the bottom of the page on the forum lists btw)

Cheap whores?
Cheap tippers?
Freebie boxes that were not really free?
Plots of land snatched by bots?
Actual payouts to campers after them camping for hours? ;)

a lot of new players spend $1L a lot for freebies.

Which makes it worse since many of those quit ..
