I Have been a misty cloud for hours today, I rezzed something and it never showed up but it is not in my inventory. I have cleared my cache and restarted several times, as well rebaked many times. I don't see any known issues in Grid Status... can anyone help?

I saw in IM chat today a suggestion to log in somewhere else by using an SURL maybe. Have you tried that? I'm not sure what that does to help exactly.

Oh good, I'm glad it's not just me.

I'm having all sorts of problems with texture loading that started yesterday afternoon. At first it was a demo sculpty shoe that just wouldn't rez.

Then when friends dropped by, they said I was a cloud to them. Going into Appearance mode, teleporting and relogging didn't fix it.

So I decided it was time to clear cache. Big mistake! Now textures aren't loading at all. Relogging will load some textures and not others, different ones every time.

When I check my stats window the fps is running at around 15 and my bandwidth is low, meaning the viewer isn't even trying to load the textures.

Everything was fine until yesterday afternoon and then clearing cache made a small problem worse.

When things have gotten this bad, I'll offer what I've asked others to do that has worked.

If nothing else works for you - clearing cache, appearance mode, rebake - try this. Go into your Advanced menu (alt-cntl-d if you don't have it yet), go to Advanced > Character > Character Tests > Test Female (or male, whatever floats your boat). This *should* make you stop clouding and reappear as a newbie again. Now just put all your old shapes and clothes back on.

Here's to the poor little puff.
Things are hard all over.
And life is rough.
But sure as you know what.
It's got to be tough.
When you rezz as a poor little puff.

Here's to the poor little puff.
The world is hard,
And life is rough.
But you know things are tough enough,
That no one should have to
Rez as a puff.

And to the OP, been there done that countless times and you have my condolences.

I had that problem yesterday, only everyone was gray, who wasn't a cloud, with partially rezzed bodies and clothes, or no clothes at all; relogged, rebaked, cleared cache (and yeah the cache clear made it worse. I was hosting an art exhibit opening, and a dance party, featuring deaf and disabled artists, on my sim and had been planning it for weeks. I was so mad, the one day I wanted SL to act right........finally kicked all my guests off including the DJ and restarted the sim. That worked. Thank God they all came back and what started as a disaster ended up well.

When the cloud thing happens I usually have to reboot my computer, then before starting SL, I use Ctrl-Alt-Del to stop all superfluous processes. Stuff like iTunesHelper, GoogleToolbar, Core.exe, Teatimer.exe; they all take up CPU. If I quit all those, then start SL, it runs much more smoothly.

[1:40pm] UPDATE: We have resolved the asset issues. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact support.

[1:25pm] UPDATE: We have identified and fixed what we believe to have been the cause of the problem. Things appear to be improving.

[12:54pm] UPDATE: We’re still investigating the issues.

We are seeing some intermittent problems with assets - things like notecards not loading or saving, attachments not being able to load, things appearing grey for a long time after login - which we are investigating. Please refrain from making inworld transactions and rezzing no copy objects for the time being.

We will update this post when further information is available.

And I can see my clothes and walls again.

"I WANDERED LONELY AS A CLOUD"

by William Wordsworth

I WANDERED lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
