Hi, All!

I could really use your help as I use my IMAC to earn a living. I watched Torley Linden's video today on how to use SCULPTY PAINT software to create and upload sculpted prims into Second Life. I was so excited! I carefully downloaded the MAC OS X 10.4 for INTEL version.

Upon launching, it immediately changed my monitor display to very strange colors that make using my MAC impossible. I can barely see anything on my mac to effectively pinpoint the problem. I was able to open System Preferences and check my display settings...which were fine at 1680 x 1050 displaying millions of colors. I am able to log in to my other desktop on my MAC and use if fine. However, it is crucial I find a a way to fix the display issue on my main desktop as that is where all my important files, photos, Second Life files, etc. are.

The help file that came with SCUPTY PAINT said that it was created for Windows and that
a certain character string needed to be put into the "terminal" to make it an executable program. I launched the program before doing this not understanding what to do and it launched fine and appeared for a few seconds before changing my monitor colors.

Please help with any suggestions you can. I am at a total loss and not finding answers online. Thanks so much!

I suggest contacting the makers of Sculptypaint. Highly likely this is a known issue and they can tell you off the bat what to do.

You might try recalibrating your color settings if you haven't already under System Pref. --> Displays --> Color --> Calibrate.

Or just choose some another color profile in the list and see if that makes a difference.

If none of the above helps: if you have another account on that machine and Fast User Switching enabled, go to one of the other accounts. (And if you don't have another account, it's easy to create one.) I suspect the colors will be fine in the other account, and you'll be able to use your iMac from that account until you get the problem sorted out.

Is there something like a "System Restore" to return things to a prior state?

Might it make sense to try changing the display settings to something else and back again?

I don't guess it could be as easy as pressing Control Option Command 8.
