Windlight - where'd the aspect ratio option go?

Hi all:

I just downloaded Windlight 1.19.0.* and I'm trying to increase the resolution. However, the aspect ratio and resolution options appear to be gone from the Graphics tab in Preferences.

Did it go somewhere else or did they disable resolution since there were crashing problems in the last version?

Did you 'check' the box 'custom' in your Graphic Pref's?

I've checked and unchecked it. Checking it brings up a list of options - none of which contain the resolution settings

1.19.0.80044?

If you can't see the "Display Resolution" and "Aspect Ratio" then you probably have "Run Second Life in a window" checked, resolution and AR don't really make much sense unless you're running full screen.

In a window or full screen doesn't have anything to do with it. The fact is that the Snapshot dialog is borked in both the current RC and the current Windlight version insofar as it is impossible to get a correct aspect ratio if you want to upload a snapshot directly. There's this new "Contstrain Proportions" checkbox that replaced the "Keep specified aspect ratio" checkbox, but it usable only when a custom resolution is set in the postcard and save to hard disk modes, and even there it doesn't really seem to work. If you upload a snapshot directly, it will always be squeezed horizontally, regardless of how that option is set. Very annoying.

that must be it, then, though I would have liked to have had the resolution match that of my desktop settings (I have a widescreen 21" monitor and the resolution is quite high).

thanks!

She's not talking about snapshot aspect ratio. She's talking about the aspect ratio of the main SL window.

Mine's set to "800x600", but "run in a window" is checked, too. It expands to fit my 24" widescreen monitor perfectly, and at full 1920x1200 resolution, when I click the "full screen" icon in the corner.
